This property has a lot to offer, but good customer service was not one of them.

I reserved a non-smoking room but upon arrival was placed in a room that was loaded with the smell of smoke. Went to the front desk and was informed by staff member that room was a non-smoking room. Realizing that I was not happy with smoke in room the Front desk staff was able to move us to another room , which was a non-smoking room. No apologizes were offered ,and staff member acted rather cavalier about the issue.

Since this property has smoking and non-smoking rooms I would highly suggest you let the reservationist and front desk staff know that you want a room that is only used for non-smoking customers.

We had a our family reunion lately at this hotel and we had a great time at the hotel. The hotel is nice and clean. The staff is very friendly and treated us like family. We have already booked another event at this hotel. We are a large family with a lot of requests that are not usual with hotels, however the wonderful staff took care of each and every request. We have never stayed with this brand before but after the great experience we will try other Candlewood locations too! Got great value for what we paid!

I booked a room for my fiance and I it was our first night out since we had my son and since my father passed away July 19th 2010. I expected to have a great night just to get away however as my fiance was expecting the room because he know that I am very particular where I stay due to the fact I have small children, well during his expection a huge cock roach jumped out of the cabinet. Now Im not big on pets because I know they can bring other unwanted guest however the roach was by far huge and fast! I called the front and they allowed me to check out however I had to hunt for another hotel within the vacinity and I found one and because it was a sister hotel they gave me a discount and gave me a room that was two sizes the size of the room I hand at the candlewood suites in chesapeake suffolk. The hotel is nice however if youdont mind huge cockroaches going home in your bags then you will be fine.

I have stayed at this hotel many times for my business trips. This hotel is like my home away from home and the hotel associates are like my extended family. They always greet me with my name. They know my needs and I donot have to ask them repeatedly everytime! The managers are very caring and they have always exceeded my expectations right from making a reservation to check-out. The suites are immaculately clean and overall services are just outstanding. My company makes my travel arrangements and I have asked my company to always put me at this hotel while I am in the area. I am a corporate traveller and stay at a lot of hotels but this hotel is the BEST!!
The folks are very friendly and I highly reccomend this hotel.
