Spent one night here in early December and did not have a lot of time here, but was very impressed with the cleaniness and comfort of my room. Recently when I've been traveling I've tended to stay more at Holiday Inn Express, but Marriott's Courtyards are much nicer. There are two Courtyards in Chalottesville, and I think some of the other reviewers on TripAdvisor have confused between the two. This one is off the major highway into town & UVA, but a bit of drive to UVA on a very busy highway.
My room was a king-size bed with couch area. Very, very large (more than 52 inch) flat-screen TV. Room was very well set-up for business travel, i.e., great desk area and well-lit for working. Room and bed were very comfortable. No negatives, but the bathroom set up was a little bit odd with the toliet crowded in the corner and then a lot of unused space to the tub.
The breakfast was great! The eggs (the real test of buffets) were very good; great selection of cereals, along with bacon, sausage, etc. The waitress who pours the coffee could have come around more often, but otherwise this was a very nice breakfast arrangement with plenty of seating and very, very clean buffet and dining area. In the lobby area, there was a cozy fireplace, a good business center and coffee to go. Also, there was ice tea available to drink / take to go! Wonderful!
I've stayed elsewhere in Charlottesville - the regular Holiday Inn and the English Inn (both of which are off the same major highway as the Courtyard, but are slightly closer to town); however, this place was much nicer --- of course, it was also more expensive.
