I booked this place via expedia, but I didn't know I was booking "Liftline Lodge", instead it showed up as "Stratton Mtn Resort" -- there's your first clue. If the hotel is $75/night and it stays Stratton Mtn Resort, you're likely going to be staying at the liftline lodge.
Basically the resort has a bunch of different lodging and they scale anywhere from gorgeous (I assume) to absolutely abandonment crap (thats what we got).
My dad and I stayed here one night during our Foilage Road trip. When getting to the resort, I was ecstatic, couldn't believe what a great place I got a hotel at, and for the price. Well, first it took us two wrong guidance before we realized how to CHECK IN (It shouldn't be THAT hard). When we finally did check in and was told which bldg we'd be in, we proceeded and did a double take. The bldg looked like it had been abandoned and used as some storage (if even that). We hesitantly went in (the main bldg door wasn't even shut properly, had a broken handle). We had keys (like real keys, not the hotel cards) for our rooms. That should have been a flag. Who the hell uses real keys anymore?
As we opened the main door, we saw the rusty, stained, ripped up carpet -- it looked like it had been attacked with tons of houses dropping in, ash and dust EVERYWHERE. The rest of the bldg looked haunted, we found our room on the first floor, the carpet and hallway leading to the room was progressively getting worse.
Opened the door and the room was POORLY lit, and carpet was so disgusting we didnt take our shoes off. The beds had that motel style spread. On the plus side, it had two queen beds and the beds themselves weren't so bad. Either that or we were SO exhausted by this point that we just passed out. I couldn't even shower in that tub, it just irked me.
The room had a old 19 in TV, lights that wouldn't turn on or off properly, thermostat that didn't work, and a coffee maker. It did have two individual closet/armoir, which would've been useful if I wasn't so grossed about putting anything on anything.
Was out of there by 5am the next morning. Horrible. Would NEVER stay here again. Luckily, my next hotel (in montreal, where i paid the same) was a GEM!
Apart from the hotel, the location, stratton village (with food, and stores) were not too shabby. One trip however is more than enough.
