We stayed on a Saturday night in October and the place was full, or nearly so, by evening. We were given a room on the first floor, facing the parking lot. The room above us was already occupied, and after a few minutes of listening to the noise levels from the creaking floor, heavy footfalls and doors slamming overhead, we asked for another room. We ended up in a second-floor room next to an access stairway serving 10 or 12 rooms. Our door opened onto an outdoor walkway.
The room itself was reasonably large and looked recently done over. All furniture and fixtures were in good shape and everything was neat and clean. The bath was spacious and seemed freshly renovated, with tile floor, new fixtures, granite countertop and tub surround.
Breakfast was served in a room actually large enough for the purpose; a welcome change from crowds in a corner of the lobby. The assortment was a bit above average for motels of this chain; the usual carbohydrates plus eggs (instant) & sausage, yogurt, fruit.
The only negative element was how noisy the room was. The motel itself seemed to be an older building, although recently renovated. The walls are thin and probably standard framed construction, so sound travels, to say the least. After our experience here, we will be trying to avoid rooms adjacent to stairways. Traffic up and down all night woke us repeatedly. Shelburne is just south of Burlington, which is very much a college town. It seemed that quite a few of the guests that night were enjoying the active nightlife available in college towns. We didn't.
In all, our stay was mostly positive and quite affordable. We would go back, just not on a Saturday night.
