Being a lastminute.com family, we did not plan this stay at Shore Acres. It was chance discovery on our drive towards Burlington one October night. A warm welcome by the inn-keeper together with his family, a quick tour of the property, a brief peek into the rooms available for us, made our choice easy. The room was clean and cozy, the bed comfortable.

We opened our eyes to a brilliant sunrise right from our bed- every room opens into a lawn with The Lake Champlain barely few feet away. A well-maintained restaurant, a descent continental breakfast, with soothing music in the background was a great way to start the day!

We stayed here overnight and we really enjoyed it. The rooms were clean and the staff was efficient. The bed was very comfortable. The continental breakfast the next morning was great. I expected the inn to be rustic, so I was pleasantly surprised with the comfort we experienced.

Just stayed at Shore Acres last week during a fishing trip to the area. I had a single queen room which was exceptionally clean, well appointed and with plenty of space. The bed was reasonably comfortable and the room was bright, well lit and generally very nice. This is not a big fancy five star resort but a very appropriate facility for that area and fits in with the surroundings. The grounds and facilities were also very clean, well kept and had a nice atmosphere. The views of the lake were terrific. The restaurant also had a nice atmosphere, was comfortable and accommodating for folks wearing jacket and ties or casual dress. The view of the lake was very nice as the lakeside wall is all glass. The menu had some great choices for appetizers, entree's and deserts which made for some tough decisions. The food was very good and reasonably priced. No fault of the restaurant but my only gripe with the area is that for the earlybird fishermen there is not a place on the islands that we could find for early breakfast. Shore Acres does provide what sounded like a very nice continental breakfast but not at the early hours we needed, again no fault of Shore Acres. I travel a good bit for work so I can be rather fussy on where I stay but I totally enjoyed staying at Shore Acres and would highly recommend it.

We stopped here on our way back from Montreal. We had read about the inn in Vermont Life and were looking forward to eating in the restaurant. Our room was rather simple for the price and not a place to spend a rainy afternoon. The staff was very cool and there was no real public place to sit. We were most disappointed by the restaurant where the food was nothing like the magazine and we were rushed through our dinner so they could close early. It had a very nice property, but we couldn't enjoy it because of the weather.
