We stopped here on our way back from Montreal. We had read about the inn in Vermont Life and were looking forward to eating in the restaurant. Our room was rather simple for the price and not a place to spend a rainy afternoon. The staff was very cool and there was no real public place to sit. We were most disappointed by the restaurant where the food was nothing like the magazine and we were rushed through our dinner so they could close early. It had a very nice property, but we couldn't enjoy it because of the weather.

My husband, kids and I recently spent the weekend at Shore Acres Inn. We were there with members of his extended family to celebrate his grandmother's 80th birthday. First of all, the view was breathtaking. The weather was perfect and we spent all day Saturday outside on the vast lawn, sitting in the Adirondack chairs, playing shuffleboard and taking turns on the boat my husband's aunt had rented for the day, hoping to catch a glimpse of Champy:). My kids had a blast playing on the playground with the ark. The Continental breakfast (included) was good, offering a variety of cereals, bagels and fresh-baked breads, yogurt, coffee and orange juice, and several other things. The owners were very attentive and when my husband asked for decaf they ran right off to brew a pot and brought it out to us. They also catered a luncheon for us and it was delicious as well. The staff was super friendly and happy to help when needed. Our room was spacious and really clean. The one downside was the lack of other dining options in the area, but we were able to find a diner on Friday evening, about 20 minutes away, that was great.

All in all, we had nothing to complain about, except the long drive to get there from
Baltimore:). But I would gladly do it again should the opportunityt arise!

This is a beautiful setting. The room was lovely, the views were magnificient and the continental breakfast was delightful. We felt fortunate to find this inn. We would go back in a minute and stay forever!

My husband and I were looking for an overnight spot between ogunquit Maine and Toronto .
We just happened to drive by and loved everything we saw.
The rooms are large, clean and comfortable.
The owners are sociable and hard working.
The dining room has large windows overlooking lake champlain.
There are flowers ( from their garden) and candles on every table. Details like terra cotta rabbits are placed all over the 50 acres.
On this visit, pumpkins dot the property.
The food is excellent. I heard the same chef has worked here for many years(15??). Always a good sign.
My only complaint is that it is so popular, you can't reserve a room on Friday or Saturday unless you have made reservations well in advance.
All these great reviews will make it even more popular!!
In all our travels, this is the best family run place that we have found.
