“Southern Hospitality in Central Vermont”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 31 October 2011

When planning a first ever NE fall foliage trip we happened on the Russell Young Farms B and B. What serendipity! Our 4 night stay there was the highlight of a wonderful trip--even though weather was variable and leaves slightly past peak.

As other reviewers have noted. the location is unbeatable. Looking out the windows is like stepping into a cover of Vermont Life. In addition, the cleanliness, comfort (what a treat the heated towel racks are),and delicious breakfasts make for an all around winner.

Dennis and Carol are marvelous hosts who provide so many suggestions for guests' enjoyment that it is like having a personal travel guide with you at all times. Thanks to their tips (all printed out to take along on the day's excursion) every day was a new adventure.

We are North Carolinians who felt right at home in this beautiful Central Vermont B and B. Thank you so much, Carol and Dennis--you all "know how to do."

Room Tip: All are excellent. Reuben is a little larger than Pepper but both are equally comfortable.

“We love the Russell Young Farm B&B”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 1 January 2011

The Russell Young Farm B&B is one of the most relaxing places I've ever stayed. In part, this is due to the phenomenal location. The farm is nestled in Vermont's Green Mountains. From the front porch, you have a perfect view of Camel's Hump, and behind the farm are Mt. Ellen and Mt. Abe.

The B&B itself is immaculate and very comfortable. Clearly, Carol and Dennis, the owners, have kept extremely good care of the farm house. Their attention to detail reflects their love of the farm and of being good inn keepers. There are only three bedrooms (two with queen size beds are upstairs and a third with two singles is downstairs), so it is nearly always very quiet and conducive to relaxation. There is a beautiful fireplace and a nice dining area where Carol makes three-course, excellent breakfasts. We never need to eat lunch after eating her breakfasts.

While we love the location and the farmhouse itself, we have returned three times because Carol and Dennis have been so hospitable. They are wonderful people, and we have enjoyed talking to them about all-things Vermont. They are the perfect inn keepers because they are so friendly and helpful.

“Enjoyable stay off the beaten path”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 2 September 2010

Had an enjoyable couple of nights at the Russell Young Farm. A quiet farm at the end of a gravel road. Spacious and comfortable room, wonderful breakfasts and enjoyable hosts. Dennis and Carol were helpful in recommending several good resturants for dinner in nearby Bristol as well as other activiites and hikes during our visit.

“Great stay at Russell Young Farm B&B!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 2 April 2008

We recently celebrated our four year anniversary with a weekend stay at the Russell Young Farm Bed and Breakfast. Everything was great! From the wonderful hosts to the delicious breakfasts to the beautiful surroundings, we enjoyed everything. The house is very nice -- the living room has a large fireplace (automated, so it's very easy to use), the bedrooms were very comfortable, and we enjoyed soaking in the hottub behind the house while a light snow fell. The house is on 70 acres of land and the hosts live in another house behind the B&B. We took advantage of the land and borrowed snowshoes from the B&B to go for a 2 hour "hike." It was beautiful! After playing in the plentiful snow, we went for a sleigh ride at a farm about 20 minutes from the house. It was wonderful and a bargain -- a 30 minute sleigh ride for $5 each! Our hosts told us about the ride, and gave us directions. We tried two restaurants in town. Friday night we went to the Bobcat Cafe -- a restaurant on Main St. in "downtown" that had great food and beer (brewed there). On Saturday night we went to Mary's at Baldwin Inn. All of the food was amazingly delicious and the service was excellent. We would highly recommend both restaurants. All in all, a great weekend!

“Fantastic Location!.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 16 October 2006

This farmhouse B & B is set in a superb location at the end of a mile long dirt road with amazing views over the surrounding countryside. The property is very clean ( you may even be asked to remove your shoes when wet) and in superb condition. Our room (The Rueben) was very spacious and comfortable with TV/Video and a superb en-suite bathroom that had a heated towel rail and wonderful shower. Dennis & Carol are very friendly hosts that will provide you with lots of information on what to see and where to go.

Be warned that the breakfasts at this place are huge, you won't need to concern yourself with finding lunch as you will not need any!.

The only minor complaint was that when it rained the water ran from the main roof onto the porch roof directly under our window and was quite noisy as the roof is made of tin. This would not stop us staying there again though.

Overall, a beautiful house in a wonderful location.
