I've stayed in this hotel three times, each time the experience has deteriorated by 10.

While it's in a great location the service is just horrible. If you like rude desk clerks or NO desk clerks, this is the hotel for you! Seriously, after having to wait for over 5 minutes for someone to appear at the front desk my wife called the hotel and a girl answered the phone and my wife told her that she had been waiting for over 5 minutes at the front desk to check in. The clerk, a rude girl who seriously needs to be fired shows up immediately and starts yelling at my wife about not having any patience. We finally got our room after the clerk threw the keys at my wife.

Long story short my company does a ton of business with the Hilton Hotel group and I control that...it's about to change.

Pathetic.

My wife and I visited family in Victoria and had tried other motels on previous trips, but none met the expectation of this Hampton Inn. We usually stay with the Hilton line of hotels and while most are what you would expect, this particular Hampton is nothing short of spotless. They even keep the elevator and pool areas spotless. Contrary to what one TA report showed on this hotel, our room was plenty large and it did have a microwave and refrigerator. The rates varied, depending on the day of the week, as we were here several days, but they never exceeded reasonable and some nights we're in the high 80 dollar range. Well located, spotless and reasonably priced ... it's a must stay in my opinion!

Having travelled extensively in the continental United States, I have stayed with most of the major chains several times. I settled on the Hilton family several years ago for my travel needs, mostly due to the Hampton Inn brand.

This Hampton Inn, like most others, has nice, clean accomodations for the regular travelers. While the breakfast often leaves a good deal to be desired (the hot items, anyway), it always has the staples - yogurt, bagels, coffee, fruit, cereals, etc. It's dependable.

This one is a good example of what a Hampton should be - a relatively low cost alternative to some pricier chains. My only issue here is the lack of a jacuzzi/hot tub. It's always nice to have that to count on when travelling. Nothing solves a bad case of jet lag like a hot tub!

Too small room for 2 people. No micro or frig in room, which nowadays everyone has that It was very closterphopic. You could here people talking at the front desk from the room.
