a nothc below a Homewood suite but was ok for 1 night. location on edge of town . Accommodation in this part of Texas is in short supply, had to travel 40 miles to get it.

Stayed at the Hampton Inn in Victoria for 3 nights during a trip for a family wedding. We filled the hotel with extended family and friends of all ages...from little kids to grandparents. Close to many restaurants and the highway thru/around Victoria. The staff here was awesome! Friendly, helpful, accomodating...simply the BEST. Rooms were good size, quiet, clean and comfy. The hotel provides a free breakfast which was yummy every morning with good selections (fruit, waffles, pastries, eggs, meat, yogurt, juice, tea and cereal...something for everyone). There is a small fitness facility with treadmills, a bike, weights and a t.v. Towels were provided and the room was very clean. We used the pool just once, but it fit our needs -- clean, plenty of chairs and tables, and floaties for the kids. My only complaint for this hotel is the noisy, noisy air conditioning unit in our room (others had this same complaint). It "banged" on and off making a solid nights sleep difficult as it woke us up everytime. If they fixed this issue, I would give them an excellent rating for sleep quality as well. Victoria is only 1 hour from the shore/beach so we got a little beach time in one day in Rockport. Wish we would have had more time to explore this funky little beach town. Guess we will have to return. Thank you for a wonderful stay Hampton Inn Victoria and for taking care of our extended family and friends.

I've stayed in this hotel three times, each time the experience has deteriorated by 10.

While it's in a great location the service is just horrible. If you like rude desk clerks or NO desk clerks, this is the hotel for you! Seriously, after having to wait for over 5 minutes for someone to appear at the front desk my wife called the hotel and a girl answered the phone and my wife told her that she had been waiting for over 5 minutes at the front desk to check in. The clerk, a rude girl who seriously needs to be fired shows up immediately and starts yelling at my wife about not having any patience. We finally got our room after the clerk threw the keys at my wife.

Long story short my company does a ton of business with the Hilton Hotel group and I control that...it's about to change.

Pathetic.

My wife and I visited family in Victoria and had tried other motels on previous trips, but none met the expectation of this Hampton Inn. We usually stay with the Hilton line of hotels and while most are what you would expect, this particular Hampton is nothing short of spotless. They even keep the elevator and pool areas spotless. Contrary to what one TA report showed on this hotel, our room was plenty large and it did have a microwave and refrigerator. The rates varied, depending on the day of the week, as we were here several days, but they never exceeded reasonable and some nights we're in the high 80 dollar range. Well located, spotless and reasonably priced ... it's a must stay in my opinion!
