This is an older Holiday Inn Express. The service is good and the staff try to make it as comfortable as possible for travelers. Since there are not alot of options in Van Horn, TX this hotel is one of the better choices. The bedding and shower is comfortable and they have a breakfast buffet that is adequate for long road trips.

This was a really nice sized hotel with clean, comfortable beds which allowed dogs. It was a nice midway stop between Phoenix and Dallas. The rooms are larger than some of the other cheaper hotels which accept dogs. It was in a very convenient location right off the highway which felt safe. It's very close to the Cattle Company, a very surprisingly delicious steakhouse, in the middle of nowhere. Definitely have dinner there. Breakfast was fine, with fruit, pastries, several buffet type items to choose from and coffee. There's also a coffee maker in the room. They supply ear plugs, however, we just left the bathroom fan on all night and that drowned out any noise and it was a peaceful sleep.

This hotel is not a typical Holiday Inn Express. There are no elevators & the rooms are small, & noisy, especially if you are on the bottom floor with someone above you. I guess that's what the ear plugs are for. My husband & I both woke up sneezing & with scratchy throats after staying here. This hotel is definitely not worth the price.

Very reliable place to stay en route elsewhere. I stayed with 2 small kids and felt reasonably safe. Room was very clean and comfortable. I thought it was a bit expensive given that it was in the middle of nowhere but I didn't want to take a chance on a cheap room. Would recommend.
