“not so great”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 9 June 2008

No elevator in this Comfort Inn which is now The Inn of Stephenville. Very steep flight to climb with two year old and bags in tow! Air was off when we entered the room, and it took awhile for it to cool down. Was told rooms were indoors. This only applies to the rooms upstairs that you get to without the elevator-remember! Downstairs open outdoors.
A.M. buffet had several choices. Beds had four plush pillows, and were comfortable. Room had large bathroom and was very clean. If you don't have bad knees and kids to carry maybe this one is for you.

“Typically Adequate”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 15 February 2008

Title says it. If you need a place to stay that is clean and comfortable this works. Showing its age in places but nothing detracting from critical functions. Too chilly for the pool so didn't pay any attention to that. Breakfast and breakfast room also typical and adequate. Soundproofing may be an issue. When next to the wall I could tell the TV next door was on but not a problem. It might be if the volume was cranked up tho.

“Worst Comfort Inn I've stayed in”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 25 September 2006

First of all, let me say the employees of this hotel were prefectly fine. Very friendly.

However, this hotel leaves a lot to be desired. The paint on the walls is terrible and looks like the painter was going to come back and finish but never did.

There are spots on the floors and walls and most of the furniture needs to be replaced.

Since I travel a lot for business, I have had the chance to stay at a lot of Comfort Inns and other Choice Hotels properties. This one was by far the worst.

The good news is you'll feel safe, but don't expect even a 2 star rating from me.

  • Liked — It was in town.
  • Disliked — Unclean, needs major renovations
  • Tips/Secrets — Try the Best Western or other new hotels opening soon.

“Clean, But .....”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 8 March 2006

Room and bathroom was clean. The bed was below average. I felt like I was sleeping on a trampoline. Furniture in the room was old and scrapped up and the paint in the shower was peeling. But what do expect in STEPHENVILLE. You will not find any 5 Star hotels here, not even a 4 Star. This is about as good as it gets. The rates are high for the accomadations, but like I said the room was clean so I'll take that.

“Clean, comfortable, good price”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 19 April 2005

Nice hotel, clean rooms, big beds, good shower.
The set up of the rooms was interesting, with two doors (one to the outside, and one to the interior hallway.)
We opted for the jacuzzi tub in the room, which was a nice touch.
The pool was not very clean, but then again it was February...no one in their right mind would go swimming.
The staff was very friendly and let us check out late with no problems.
