First of all the hotel looks horrible from the outside, but gets a little better inside. I travel frequently for work, and this is the first hotel I've stayed in (for years) that didn't have an automatic door. So right off the bat, you'll be irritated trying to drag all your stuff through a door while trying to hold it open.
The rooms are just terrible. I was told the rooms had been remolded, but I don't see it. The beds have those old horrible bedspreads on them that probably never get washed. The first room i was given hadn't been vacuumed. There were bits of toilet paper and paper towels on the bathroom counter along with a safety pin. There was hair in the sink and soap scum all over everything. I pulled back the sheets on one of the bed and the blanket had holes all over it. There was a hair in the sheets and a hair under the bottom sheet - not to mention the sheets were either stained or not clean (and paper thin as well). The pillow cases on the barely-filled-with-stuffing pillows were inside out. I complained about the room and was given another room.
The second room was cleaner, but didn't have tissues in it. The pillow cases are still inside out, the pillows are still thin and horrible. The sheets are still threadbare. I know inside out pillow cases is not the end of the work but it shows a lack of effort and caring by housekeeping staff. Neither of the alarm clocks in the room were correct - one was unplugged and one was flashing 12:00. The TV in the 2nd room has poor reception and there are about 20 channels the remote goes through that are just static and should be programmed out. There's free wi-fi, but I only get 1 bar.
Also - the rooms have sleep number beds - I HATE sleep number beds - those things are miserable - I know I should have followed my gut and booked at the Hampton Inn instead of here (I'm only here because I had a meeting here).
I would have left already but the Hampton and Holiday Inn Express don't have any rooms - those are the brands I normally stay with - so I don't expect luxury, but I do expect comfortable pillows and a clean room.
I will NEVER come back here.
