We've stayed here before with our adult friends (before kids) and now that our little one is 8 months old we are happily coming back and bringing another friend with us. For us it is a little on the pricier side, but we feel it is good for what you get. Previous reviews remind me that each unit is different and your experience can really depend on that. Our unit last time was perfectly nice. The grounds were fine... nothing spectacular, but you are only a very easy walk from the beach. I'll update this post after this weekend... but our past experience was definitely a good one.

We booked a two bedroom condo for a weekend at Port Aransas, TX because it was near the beach. Our party was 4 adults and two small children. We were given Condo No. 1307. It was the only unit available so we could not make any changes. The unit was dirty, the floor was dirty and the furniture appeared to be 20+ years old and very soiled. The sofa couch was broken such you could not sit on it. The floor on the secound floor slanted so items on the dresser would roll off to the floor. We tried to speak to the management when leaving but was not available. I would not book another accommodation with this hotel.

We have stayed at Island Dunes 3 times now and each stay was a great experience. The layout of the 2 bedroom unit is great and having the washer/dryer in the unit is a bonus. The staff is very friendly. The unit we stayed in this year was very nice, but it was being taken out of the rental pool after we left for some remodeling....doesn't need it as far as I'm concerned.
Plenty of parking, and during the week it is not very crowded at all. Seems really quiet-no late night hootin' and hollerin'.

We stayed at the Island Dunes in May and really enjoyed ourselves. Everything about the condo and the people there was great.

The condo was very clean. Having one bedroom upstairs and one bedroom downstairs - each with its own bathroom - was a big plus for our group. The pool area and other outside common areas were lovely also.

The manager was very helpful. And the owners of the units on either side of where we stayed were very cordial. Overall, it was a very positive experience.

The ONLY thing that some might consider negative is that it's a block to the beach. It's an easy walk, but if you want to be able to see the water from your window, it's not going to happen here. We felt it was a small price to pay for the reasonable price we did pay and for all the other things that were perfect about the place.

Next time we're in Port A, we will definitely stay here.
