“Enjoyed our stay!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 24 October 2011

My husband and I were on our honeymoon and decided to stop at the Beachcomber after getting the run around from some of the other hotels in the area. The owner was very accomodating and we were very pleased that they had a room available on such short notice. We stayed in the middle of the week and really loved how peaceful the place was and enjoyed the views from our room. We woke each morning to the sunrise coming through the window and enjoyed our coffee on the balcony. It was really nice being able to walk two blocks to the beach. We will definitely stay here again!

“BEST VACATION WE'VE EVER HAD !!!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 1 October 2011

I don't know where all these people came up with anything bad to say about the Beachcomber in Port Aransas! We had a one bedroom with a full kitchen and it was delightful !!! We could see the beach from our upstairs balcony, there was a fantastic hot tub and saltwater swimming pool and Steve, the owner was one of the most fantastic people we have ever met ! A great host with an awesome sense of humor... We loved every minute and felt like we were right at home there. We were given anything we asked for at any time of day ! We will make a point of going back twice a year ! LOVED EVERY MINUTE OF OUR VACATION !!!!

“Like visiting old friends!”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 21 September 2011

OK...let me just say that my family and many "girl trip" weekends have been at the 'Comber over the last 10 plus years. Everytime we visit...it's like visiting old friends! Granted....it is NOT the Hilton, but then again, we're all about quiet; cozy and a little independence. Just leave us alone to enjoy our time. We like sitting on our private porch and hanging out. We don't mind the "light housekeeping" at the end of our trip. We feel that it's the least we can do after a relaxing and comfortable stay. Kitchens are mostly stocked with whatever cooking utensils/pans/etc. Dishes may not match, but that's kinda the fun of it too. Fridge keeps our items cold and the coffee pot(s) work!! Yes...it's a little tired and could use some paint here and there...but the owners are friendly and helpful, plus they live next door to the property. By default, I would never bother them, but nice to know they are close. We like that if we need ANYTHING....the owner will accomodate. You can't beat the short 5 minute walk to the beach from your front door. We're not all that interested in the a-typical tourist traps and fluffy stuff the town has to offer...but these are just a couple of blocks away if you are into that. All in all...clean...small....independant...comfortable. We'll be back!

“Ok”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 29 July 2011

So today is checkout day after a two night stay. Let me start out by saying this place is no horrible, but it's not fantastic either. You get what you pay for. The rooms are decent, love the closeness to the beach (we walked so as to avoid sand all in the car). I was a little taken back after we check in and I noticed all the little signs in the room about cleaning fees of $50-$200 if you leave the room dirty. I'm cool with the no towel switch out after all it's a motel not a hotel. I just feel like the guy who check me in (who was super nice by the way) should have told me I would need to clean the room. All and all the stay was nice the bed was comfortable, the futon suck so my kids had to sleep with us (tight fit in a queen bed) I wasn't expecting a whole lot and might stay there again.

“Bring roach spray and your own linens.”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 23 June 2011

Booked the efficiency with kitchen for 7 nights. Place was dirty. Bathroom had little roaches that would scamper away when you turned on the light. Furniture was broken down and nasty with stains all over the chairs.Little AC did not comfortably cool the place, but there was a small rusty dusty fan for us to use. My husband and I were dealing with these issues, but when the owner refused to let us trade in our towels and linens for fresh ones on the 4th day, well that did it. The owner told us he had not raised rates in 9 years, and it was too expensive to provide fresh towels and linens. There was a binder with info in it that says we can trade our towels and linens, but he said he had changed the rules. The pool is so small that 2 people on floats would fill it up. The owner was rude. My husband and I went to the office only twice... at check in and to ask for clean linens. We stayed gone most of the time at the beach and the CC Hooks baseball games. We bought a small fan to use, and an extension cord as there were hardly any outlets there. Only one bedside table and lamp which is an issue with me. However, there was not enough room for one on both sides of the bed. There was only 2 of us, but said could sleep 4! There was an old futon. On the positive side, the shower and tub seemed new. the fridge was a nice size, though rusty on the outside. The place was quiet, and the bed was comfortable. The beautiful beach was a very short walk away. I could have dealt with all the negatives, but the refusal for clean linens was unacceptable. Will not go back to the Beachcomber next year when we return to Pt. A!
