Bed bugs enough said, poor service from the staff!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I stay at the Holiday inn in Plano every week. They have had mechanical problems (elevator and ac in one room) but overall the staff is great and the hotel is clean. The breakfast is very good.

Stayed at this hotel for two nights recently. Here are my thoughts:

The front desk staff were good,

I was surprised to see reviews that this hotel has recently been renovated. It was nice but did not look newly refurbished.

Here are the issues I saw
1) When I arrived the elevator was not working. I was only on the second floor with light luggage but if I had been on the third floor or with heavy luggage it would have been annoying. It was fixed by the next day.

2) The hotel room had 4 packages of decaf coffee but no regular coffee. Why no regular coffee? This is not difficult to do.

3) When I went to use the coffee machine there was old coffee in it which had not been discarded.

4) The room only had wired internet, no wireless. I prefer wired for the speed but sometimes I want to sit in the other chair which is not possible with the cable.

5) The next day I went out in the morning and came back by 2pm and my room had not been cleaned.

These are all pretty minor issues (except for the elevator) but I did not expect to see so many of them in a short stay. I think if the housekeeping was improved this could be a much better hotel.

This was an impressive stay. The hotel appeared to have been throughly renovated recently- nearly everything seemed to be brand new. The decor of the hallways ans lobby was a bit overdone (hot pink accents, etc.), but the room was much more understated and had clean, modern design. I was in a king suite; my room was very large, with an ample working area, large sitting area, and comfortable bed. There was good lighting and ample outlets in the room. Service was what you would expect from a Holiday Inn Express- nothing fancy, but polite and efficient. The hotel is right off the highway, and several chain restaurants, grocery stores, and stores are nearby. When business takes me back to Plano, I'll likely book here again because the hotel offered better rooms than others in its class nearby and had an equally good location.
