Me, my wife and our two children recently drove to visit Grandma and Grandpa in TX. We took the scenic route: Williams, AZ; South Rim (Grand Canyon); Roswell, NM; Carlsbad Caverns. In all, we drove 1,500 miles and spent nights at 4 different hotels: Best Western (Williams), the Cameron Trading Post (just a few miles outside Grand Canyon) , Comfort Inn (Roswell) and the Quality Inn (Pecos).
The check in process was short and sweet as we checked in late/early morning at all the hotels. Not much in the way of discounts except AAA accepted at all four hotels.
The three franchise hotels had the usual amenities: Comfort Inn (indoor pool), Quality Inn (large outdoor pool), Best Western (decent outdoor pool), wifi and breakfast.
The most expensive hotel was Best Western and the most affordable was the Quality Inn. The three franchise hotels had standard breakfast in the morning: waffle machine, juice, coffee, fruits, etc... with one exception: the Quality Inn had sausage egg muffins you can build. That was pretty good.
The price point was the biggest difference between the three hotels. Pecos Quality Inn was the most affordable with a price that was almost $65.00 dollars less than the Best Western!
Mommy and the kids had a good nights sleep at all the hotels and that makes 1,500 miles drive by quicker. The most affordable price point at Pecos Quality Inn makes daddy's bank account happy!
As a result of our hotel experience so far, I'll have Google map Quality Inn first on our return trip!
Sedona here we come!
