“Sweet place in a great location”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 25 August 2011

I was pleasantly suprised with this sweet bed and breakfast. The location was within walking distance to the square, farmers market and the river. It was close enough that the tube places would provide transportation. The kitchen was nicely stocked and the house was decorated very sweet. The king size bed was awesome but the other beds were pretty rough. I would definitely recommend this inn even with the bed issue.

“Very Disappointed”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 4 August 2011

After reading all the reviews, my wife and I were really looking forward to our stay at this inn. We were quite let down. First, the TV remote did not work. We went and bought batteries and it still didn't work. They did replace it the next day. There was dirt on the ceilings and walls adjacent to the A/C vents. It was thick and obviously had been overlooked for some time. The ceiling fan also had a lot of dust on it. We hesitated to say anything as we were afraid the dirt would have been knocked off the ceiling and into the sheets of the bed below. On the back of the bathroom door it looked as if someone had splashed something, but the door had never been cleaned. The toilet was extremely wobbly, had an elderly person or child been there they might have fallen. Once we saw the dust on the ceilings and walls we couldn't help but to look at everything closer. There was dust atop the doorways, the light fixtures, inside the TV armoire, along the base boards. The worst part was when my wife had finished taking a bath. She reached for a towel and found a brownish stain, which had small bits of crust in it. We were, and still are, disgusted!! We regularly stay in B&B's or boutique hotels. We do this because generally there is a great attention to service and detail. We also like getting away from the franchise hotels, and knowing the money we spend stays in the local economies. When we arrived, the lady who was cleaning our room, the Mountain Laurel Room, stayed and chatted with us for a bit. She had stated that a former guest had complained about dust and dirt also. Boy were we surprised to find what we discovered! One would hope that after one guest had complained, and the staff has acknowledged the complaint, they would be thorough in reconciling the problem. A couple more things, the lights alongside the bed were not hung well. When my wife tried to adjust the light to read, the fixture about fell of the wall. And the walls are not insulated well. I was kept up thanks to the room next to us. The TV, and their conversations were easily heard.
It is in a nice location, and the bed was comfortable. But it really made us sad to think we could haver stayed in a La Quinta for half the price, and had a cleaner room.

“Great Bed, lousy breakfast for an Inn.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 9 December 2010

The room was cozy, the King size bed was plush...soft sheets, plenty of blankets and pillows, the bathroom was a little small but do-able, and the location is amazing...walking distance to the town circle thats all lit up during Christmas time. Breakfast was served in the room...muffins and danishes under a glass dish, fruit, milk, orange juice & yogurt. It was great for us because we left fairly early but definitely wasn't what is expected of and Inn...but then maybe I was thinking more B&B.

“Love this place!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 21 September 2010

My husband and I love to come down and stay at this B&B often. We appreciate the privacy and quiet. I get away to do just that, get away from noise, and people, just chill out and this is a great place to do it. We always stay in the Juniper Room. I only have one complaint, the beds aren't my taste-I like a firm hard mattress and this one is not, nothing wrong with the mattress, just not what I like to sleep on.
We always plan our next trip on the way back home so we will be staying here forever!!!
