“Never again!”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 2 February 2012

This hotel was NOISY beyond description. I felt like I was a homeless person sleeping under a busy highway bridge. I could hear every single vehicle that passed by on the busy highway next to the hotel. The room was not the cleanest nor the most up to date. I will not be going back and would recommend you look elsewhere. Only stayed there because everything else was full (was the first clue) on a trip that I had no time to plan ahead.

Room Tip: Request a south side room of you have to stay there but, look for something else first.

“Not a bad place to stay”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 1 November 2011

This property is not a bad place to stay. It is a motel style property so, with that in mind, it can be noisy especially if you are on the first floor....cars coming and going, etc. However, our room was clean, the staff was polite, and the bed was comfy. We have stayed here before but on the second floor so I think if we were to stay again, I would definately request second floor. One interesting thing that happened during our stay that was not necessarily the properties fault...my husband went out to the car to get something and was approached by a woman who propositioned him. He immediately called the front desk and they asked for her description and let us know they would have the police to do a drive through the property.

Room Tip: Ask for 2nd floor room...may help with noise

“Not a bad place at all!”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 14 October 2011

Driving South on US 59 at the South Loop I noticed a billboard advertising $59 rooms at the LaQuinta. That was about $30 cheaper than most other places of similar quality. Yes, the building itself was dated to the late 70's, but the place had good maintenance and the carpet and bed linnens were good and new. The place was clean. On my arrival there was nobody at the front desk. I called their number, and got a recording. So I left and checked out the neighboring places, but they were a lot more expensive, so I returned and found the clerk, and booked the room. Most of the guests were probably longer term contract construction workers, but it was quiet and the back faced the piney woods. There was a fish restaurant in front, and lots of places in walking distance to eat. The room had a good flat screen TV, lots of channels, but no microwave or refrigerator, which are nice if on a longer stay. I got up early and did not try the breakfast. It was kind of nostalgic remembering the LaQuintas of my youth.

Room Tip: Ask for a room in back, facing the woods!

“One of the Older LaQuintas”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 4 August 2011

We stayed here during the SFA orientation for one night.
It is an older hotel with the exterior-facing rooms and it appears to have been renovated a few years back. That being said, it is showing its age.
This not one of the more luxurious hotels in the LaQuinta chain. Painted tile block walls have a limit on the coziness factor. The breakfast area is OK. A bit small but OK.
The service was good. The staff was friendly.
Overall, a pretty good value for the price.
