We first arrived at the hotel with an early check in booking.
However the owner/manager wasn't expecting us even though we had spoken on the telephone to arrange a time.
Check in is usually around 4PM, however we arrived at 2PM as arranged.
After check in we were shown to our room, we booked a large double at the front of the hotel.
The room was nice enough clean and fresh, however it lacked the old country house charm we were expecting.
After check-in we were offered refreshments which was greatly appreciated, however they claimed the baking was home made and it wasn't.
Dinner service is at 7.30, this is located in the dining room which we felt didn't keep within the house's theme as it was a newly extended room.
The food was satisfactory, we enjoyed the meal a few things could have been improved but nothing to majorly complain about.
Neil and his wife were very friendly, however sometimes to friendly, we sat down for coffee and it felt like we couldn't have our own conversation as we were interrupted frequently.
Overall we left the hotel feeling satisfied not overly rejoiced but however satisfied.
Next time we vist the Isle of Skye we do plan to stay in a different hotel.
The rates for the kind of service you receive is over priced in our opinion.
Also we could only receive a dial up internet connection in our room.
We hope our review was helpful.
Thank You

We were saddened to read that your stay did not match your expectations, and that you found our service intrusive. I am also sorry that we gave the impression that we were not expecting you when you arrived; time must have flown by that morning!
As a matter of principle, everything is freshly prepared in our own kitchens and we use as much local produce as we possibly can; illness, or other eventuality, can exceptionally make it necessary to use the 'home made' services of others for tea.
Our current dining room was originally the Victorian kitchen, built around 1850; the conservatory is the only recent addition, built in part to provide better access for guests.
We are aware of shortcomings (TV reception & broadband included) and continue to work on a programme which we feel will help this old house and its furnishings better to reflect its historic character. We hope that you will return one day to see how we are getting on.
