hi i have just got back from tenerife and we were sent here 4 our holiday, when we arrived it took us 20mins to find the reception, which is across the road and 200 yards away!!! from the out side the paint on the apartments was peeling off and it didnt really look that welcoming. any way we got to our apartments as we went with friends as i opened the door all i could smell was a stong smell of wee, there were creepy crawlies everywhere and the apartment was dirty and old fashioned.all the plug sockets were cellotaped on to the walls and the middles of them were melted, the staircase was unsafe and my son fell down them and landed on his head, as there was no railings on both sides.the toliets were dirty and the shower had peeling enamel and was a nice colour of browny white how lovely!!! the beds were smelly and there was no way i could stay there.
i went back to reception to complain and they wouldn t do anything about it.so i rang my agent up and demanded to be moved and luckily for us we were moved within a couple of hours.
my friend had the apartment next door to me and hers was just the same so it wasnt just my bad luck!!!
these apartments were a heath and saftey issue and if they were in england they would definatley have been closed down, i did not expect some great big mansion but just to be clean and livable would have been nice, i am not posh but i do have standards and just clean would have been start!!!! please dont book to go here i just wish i would have read u on there forums before i did.the worst apartments in tenerife by far and i have the pictures to prove it which when i have more time i will post them on this forum!!!!!!

Having booked to stay for 10 nights at the El Cortijo apartments on the basis that the accommodation was 3 star, we find it is only 2 key and boy that seems generous.

The accommodation is near to the main resort centre and has an adequate pool area, however the living accommodation leaves a lot to be desired. Towels changed only 2 times a week and linen once. We had a wonky toilet and depending on the time of day you went in depened on whether there was a working shower.

This accommodation is beyond basic and is not to be recommended.

We have just been as a couple to El Corjito and i did not find 1 thing wrong with it the security man was ok he didnt speak to us much just hello and bye and their was no such thing as a baseball bat and the pool bar man was lovely he spoke to us everyday as we passed we was in room 45 and it was lovely and clean, the cleaner came everyday changed all the bedding and cleaned up and they was very friendly, The Rooms have a cooker & Grill all in 1 and a fridge. The pool and garden area are immaculate they are cleaned all the time. I dont think these apartments are too steppy the only steps they have it going into the apartments and obviously the stairs in your apartment going up to your room the outside walls was the paint just peeling but on holiday are you really going to sit in your apartment all the time its just a place to sleep in. Their was children at the pool everyday. This is a great resort and i will be going back. You are 2 mins from the supermarkets, Restaurants, Veronicas strip & Beach. It was fantastic and would be for any age group. See you next year!!!!!

We stayed here from late May until Mid June 08 in room 42. No problems booking in once we realised the reception was 200 yards away. Night porter friendly and helpful. The rooms were basic in the extreme and have not been refurbished in the last decade I would guess. Peeling paint and cracked tiles throughout, and the shower cubicle although clean, looked "suspect".
The room was adequate for two adults who simply wanted somewhere to crash and store clothes. A definite no-no for young families as health and safety would close it instantly due to the stair cases being open. Even a bit perilous if you don`t switch a light on at night en-route to the bathroom.
The wildlife supplied free of charge, i.e., cockroaches and the dining table and worktops were swarming with little black ants. This did however save on a trip to the Zoo??
Do NOT be taken in by the pictures on websites advertising these bungalows. They are obviously not recent. In their favor, the pool area is nice and plants well looked after. However, the overall appearance is shabby and run down.
