Arrived at about midnight to be told room was not available and we would need to stay in sister hotel for first night. No problem as hotel just across road and we were upgraded for our entire stay without any question. Had great holiday - staff at hotel mostly very friendly and efficient.
Room was of good size and very quiet with a large safe and "fridge". Sheets were changed regularily and room always clean.
No problem getting a sunbed at any time and pool area very clean. Main pool large and, as with most pools, initailly very cold but soon became comfortable and was able to enjoy swim every day.
Hotel in ideal location with lovely walking area along beaches towards Los Christianos and Adeje and beyond.
Food in hotel was very good, well presented and with plenty choice can not understand how anyone could not find something to their liking every evening. Would benefit from more labelling of the food.
Evening entertainment was reasonably good with some acts better than others. The Abba Fever group were rather unprofessional and the Elvis impersonator had a very good act, got the audience going, but breached the Trade Descriptions Act by claiming to be an Elvis impersonator. However the musicians who entertained before and after the main evening show were very good.
Would not hesitate to return to this hotel again.

We stayed for 1 week. Overall the hotel was nice and clean and in a great location. Close to all amenities and the beach.
The hotel itself was quite quiet and enjoyable.

Just returned from 9 day all inclusive stay at the Bitacora. Hotel was ok, Reception Staff friendly and helpful, they changed our room when we asked to move to a higher floor. Fridge and safe were included. Food was a little bland and not at all varied, so we ate out most nights. Evening entertainment was quite poor, particularly the early evening singing acts, and a group of young men who called themselves"Twister" who thought we would find watching their gym workout enjoyable. Bar Service was slow, and even though we were tagged with a bright blue bracelet the moment we arrived, we still had to produce our I.D Card every time we wanted a drink or even an ice cream in the day by the pool. We felt like we were being watched all the time, which made us feel a little uncomfortable. Hotel in a great location, so plenty of bars, restaurants and shops close by.

"No one in the pool someone posted", what absolute rubbish some people write.I swam everyday sometimes 3 times a day, plenty warm enough, animation team did water aerobics at 11am every am, kids and men joined in too,The bottom pool cooler, but quiet area for lounging about!! a bonus.The area was kept so tidy, tidied up so well after a day round the pool.
Yes the hotel may be a little dated, but clean and very comfortable,( any problem is quickly and efficiently sorted by the reception desk." No where for clothes" someone said Er a double wardrobe with internal lights when you opened and plenty of shelves for all your needs, it's a hotel not a furniture showroom for goodness sake.
THE FOOD WAS BEAUTIFULLY COOKED AND PRESENTED AND HOT,)a rarity even with our travels around the world to 4 and 5* hotels. Lots of choice from pretty decent steak, to fab duck and varied fish to lovely roasts and more authentic Spanish fayre,(a special mention too the sweets/desserts chef who fussed and really clucked over the presentation constantly, his hot bananas were too die for!!!
Rooms cleaned every day to a good standard, entertainment on the whole was pretty good, The Polynesian evening a great change and very entertaining. The acrobats were really good despite not the easiest of venue to perform.The Abba tribute group a little unsteady at the start, but really got going, a very diverse group from around the world, coped well when sound system went awry.
As a fully disabled husband came, we managed very well, no wheel in shower but a swivel bath seat so able to bathe with assistance, room plenty big enough to move about and the hotel very accessible for less able bodied .
Will be returning to this hotel without a doubt, staff are great; provide good service,(we were half board and didn't have trouble ever getting a drink)
