Just returned from 9 day all inclusive stay at the Bitacora. Hotel was ok, Reception Staff friendly and helpful, they changed our room when we asked to move to a higher floor. Fridge and safe were included. Food was a little bland and not at all varied, so we ate out most nights. Evening entertainment was quite poor, particularly the early evening singing acts, and a group of young men who called themselves"Twister" who thought we would find watching their gym workout enjoyable. Bar Service was slow, and even though we were tagged with a bright blue bracelet the moment we arrived, we still had to produce our I.D Card every time we wanted a drink or even an ice cream in the day by the pool. We felt like we were being watched all the time, which made us feel a little uncomfortable. Hotel in a great location, so plenty of bars, restaurants and shops close by.

"No one in the pool someone posted", what absolute rubbish some people write.I swam everyday sometimes 3 times a day, plenty warm enough, animation team did water aerobics at 11am every am, kids and men joined in too,The bottom pool cooler, but quiet area for lounging about!! a bonus.The area was kept so tidy, tidied up so well after a day round the pool.
Yes the hotel may be a little dated, but clean and very comfortable,( any problem is quickly and efficiently sorted by the reception desk." No where for clothes" someone said Er a double wardrobe with internal lights when you opened and plenty of shelves for all your needs, it's a hotel not a furniture showroom for goodness sake.
THE FOOD WAS BEAUTIFULLY COOKED AND PRESENTED AND HOT,)a rarity even with our travels around the world to 4 and 5* hotels. Lots of choice from pretty decent steak, to fab duck and varied fish to lovely roasts and more authentic Spanish fayre,(a special mention too the sweets/desserts chef who fussed and really clucked over the presentation constantly, his hot bananas were too die for!!!
Rooms cleaned every day to a good standard, entertainment on the whole was pretty good, The Polynesian evening a great change and very entertaining. The acrobats were really good despite not the easiest of venue to perform.The Abba tribute group a little unsteady at the start, but really got going, a very diverse group from around the world, coped well when sound system went awry.
As a fully disabled husband came, we managed very well, no wheel in shower but a swivel bath seat so able to bathe with assistance, room plenty big enough to move about and the hotel very accessible for less able bodied .
Will be returning to this hotel without a doubt, staff are great; provide good service,(we were half board and didn't have trouble ever getting a drink)

hotel was very clean great choice of food staff very freindly our only problem was the weather was very cloudy which spoilt the holiday a little bit

Hotel was ok, needs updating very old furniture, only 2 little draws for 2 of us to put clothes in, food was ok for us, catered for the uk, pool was freezing never once seen anyone in it, went all inclusive cost £1400 asked for 2 coffees and 2 soft drinks and was refused every time, staff said you can only have 2 drinks for 2 people at any one time, bit of a joke as you could go to the back of the big line and order another 2 drinks, you had to wait at least 20 minutes to get served at bars as staff served the non all inclusive first, when they seen your wrist band you were made to wait, i found this very rude and a bit ignorant, in general though room was cleaned every day, and was a quiet hotel, we were put in a room at back of hotel and had a view of a derilecked building that looked like it was abandoned 20 years ago and used as a tip, i thought the H10 Palmeras was a better 4 star hotel but Bitacora was better for the food !
Tenerife has played out for us now, its gone a bit scruffy, all the bars were empty 10 euros for a pint of Dorado and a small glass of wine, even in small bars !
