I stayed here in early January 2012. The hotel was very busy but what impressed me most was the efficiency and civility of the staff throughout the hotel. There were a number of small things with which I asked help and even at busy periods they obliged - for example in planning some trekking, sorting bus routes etc. Nothing seemed like too much trouble. Despite the heavy traffic at the front desk they were thoughtful and attentive and eager to follow up. They also seemed to have an enviable multilingual facility.
The restaurant food was really very good, sufficient variety and a high quality. Most impressive was the cooking of fresh meat and fish more or less to order, as well as pasta dishes. Value for money? I certainly felt so though I did not compare prices.
The room I had was relatively small by comparison with other hotels I have stayed in of this quality and clearly had not been decorated in a while but it was adequate and the sea view was excellent. The room was very well serviced.
The pools were well kept and there seemed to be plenty of space for those who wanted to lie around. Of course several people insisted on violating the rules by reserving sunbeds. I would love to see the pool stewards removing them. They would only have to do it once or twice a week to disrupt this selfish practice.
The one draw back was the number of very difficult and at times quite rude fellow guests, for which the hotel cannot be held responsible. Clearly these people need to unwind but do so at others ' expense! The staff deserve much praise for dealing with them so calmly. It was enough to put me off staying in big hotel complexes like this. Some people just do not know how to behave when on holidays. I felt it must be particularly intimidating for people with young families.
However, the hotel itself and the management deserve a lot of praise and as a result of my experience here I would consider the H10 chain elsewhere, all things being equal.
