We spent a fortnight in Jan/Feb 2012 on a half board basis and were satisfied that the hotel provided value for money. The reception staff were friendly and helpful but if your room is above level 3 make sure you get the lift in the correct tower block. Our room was fine but lacked a mirror next to the socket for the hair drier. The dining area was too crowded with tables and chairs and as the meals were self service the traffic was constant making the the dining experience not too pleasurable. The food was varied with a wide choice but as a previous reviewer has also noted the vegetables were overcooked and soggy. On a more positive note the omelettes and eggs were cooked to order as was a meat or fish dish in the evening. The bars were well staffed and we could always get a seat. Entertainment was provided every evening which may not have suited younger people than us, we are in our late sixties, but we were happy with it. There were also numerous activities organised for during the day by an enthusiastic staff. The pool area was big enough to accomodate a large number of sunbeds and chairs. The hotel staff stack the sunbeds in the evening and lock them with chains and then unlock them next morning around 9am but this does not stop the antics of some of the elderly British guests who place towels on chairs and position them where they will put a sunbed when they are released. Who knows at what time they do this! Note to the hotel staff- perhaps the chairs should be chained as well. We did not venture out of the hotel in the evening so did not see any of the 'ladies of the night' mentioned by previous reviewers but when we went out for lunch there were a large number of young black men selling sunglasses and watches who were not too aggressive or persistant in their sales techniques but we did find it annoying to be approached so many times in the restaurants when we sat down to have lunch. The Tenerife authorities and the restaurant owners probably need to do something about this. There is a golf course next to the hotel where 18 holes and the hire of a half set costs around £90 but a note to prospective golfers, take some golf balls with you as they are rather expensive to buy in the pros shop and there is a bit of water on the course.
Overall we were happy with the hotel and its location and may possibly return.
