So, we arrived at the hotel feeling very apprehensive after reading reviews on here,making jokes about our flip flops being stolen and being rudely treated by staff. However upon arrival we were pleasantly surprised.
Reception staff were really friendly, as where the maintenance men and security guards (I will get back on the topic of security later)
Room was clean, (after reading the reviews I made sure I checked the whole room before we even put our bags down) and was cleaned every Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday. The room was basic and did have a few things up with it such as a broken shower curtain (which was fixed within 10 minutes of being there without having to ask) and the odd broken switch we where very happy.
The pool area looked as though it had seen better days, only spent a day there, some sun loungers where broken and the pool was freezing, far too cold to swim inn and did look slightly gritty was not a problem for us anyway, as we preferred the beach.
We used to walk to Las Americas from the hotel was about a 30 minute walk, the hill was very steep but as a group of 20 year old's it was not a big issue although can imaging for the unfit or those with health problems for it to be so.
As for the robberies, A SAFE IS A MUST, whilst we where there we heard endless stories about thefts that had occurred, one guest told us in the 10 days he had been there had been a robbery.
One night a drunken guest told us that his room had been robbed and wallet and phone had been stolen, when he went to reception to alert staff they showed no interest in what he had to say and was playing on his phone. The next day the guest went to reception to where the receptionist told him his wallet had been found by the security guard, the wallet was now empty. The guest told many others the story, one man said the night the robbery had occurred he saw a security guard rooting through a bin and saw him take something out of it presumably the wallet. As no rooms had no force of entry, and the security guards are the ones with access to the keys people in the hotel came to conclusion that the security where the ones robbing the rooms. The guest who had been robbed got quite drunk one night and decided to tell the security guard that he thought it was, we witnessed from our balcony the security guard aggressively pointing his finger in the guests face, and eventually taking the guest to reception. We did not see the guest after this event. Was very strange and definitely something suspicious going on with the security guards.
As for food at the hotel, we were self catering however we did eat from the hotel a few times, we wasn't very impressed, we also witnessed some of the entertainment the hotel offers and to be honest unless your into cheap tacky worst of the worst Butlins entertainment I would not bother.
All in all however, the hotel was actually really clean and although basic, nice.
We had an excellent holiday and are very sad to be back in the cold.

We booked this for our anniversary and were told this would be submitted and a good room recommended, our room we were allocated was in all truth dungeon like, to there credit when I explained to the desk staff our situation they gave us an alternative.
Although the room was better it was still full of cockroaches, and as my wife is terrified of these she had very little sleep.
As the first day progressed we realised why the hotel is nicknamed cardiac hill, the amount of steps which we had to drag our cases down without there even being a ramp was ridiculous and obviously the return with the cases on our final day up the steps caused me severe problems. In other hotels I have stayed a porter has been offered and these in the main didnt have the severity of 48 (which my wife counted) very steep steps from room to reception
Definatley the worst thing about the hotel though were the amount of rooms that were robbed during our stay, one girl on three occasions and an old lady who had her door lifted to take everything she had, were among the several I was told of.
In all fairness the hotel staff were friendly and food was acceptable.
Would I recomend this hotel? only to a criminal fraternity without a fear of cockroaches who didnt need sleep for the course of their holiday

having stayed here 2 years ago with my parents and children and having a lovely time we booked up again. we were aware that the accomodation was basic but you get what you pay for. this time all i can say is good god! we arrived at midnight and was welcomed by an entire bar full of not only drunk but completly paraletic guests. we were given a key to an appartment which did not fit,and noone seemed to know where our room was, a staff member then walked into a room and told the woman she was in the wrong room and to get out, she was in the shower and it was not our room! when we found our room there was no lock on the door so had to barracade ourselfs in overnight. there was what looked like phelgm all over the wall outside and the small amount of cutlery there was, was covered in god knows what. We found somewhere else to stay the next morning. i have never wrote a review before but felt i ought to with this property

We went away end of august 2011 and where do i begin the staff were ignorant with us, we had 3 room changes because of the cockroaches it was awful. Before we went we read up on all the reveiws about this hotel and its not what everyone makes it out to be entertainment was terrible. We had to sleep in reception one night because there was that many cockroaches in our room and the staff said this is usual and we have to pay extra for another room. We went all inculusive and the food wasnt much cop. We could not use the kitchen due to cockroaches and dirt in the rooms. It was like off a film as soon as night fall hits the cockroaches atttack. They were also flying around the hotel and the staff didnt do anyhing about it. 2 staff members were sacked when we were there because of there ignorance towards us as a famliy and alot more people too. NEVER GO HERE!!!
