“Fantastic hotel and holiday”

Stayed here for a sunny break. Forget all the negative reviews -- this hotel is a wonderful place to stay. The staff were polite and professional. The whole area was spotless. The food was varied and very very good--- always lots of fresh fish. The pool area was lovely with lots of space always in the sun. Some of the sunbeds could do with being replaced.
The rooms were great and very spacious. We had room 164-- wonderful choice as we had sun on our balcony in the evening ( we wanted this) Loved bein at front of hotel as you can see tge sea and also watch the world go by! Night entertainment was above average. Prices at bar were very reasonable. Location is brilliant. Going back again

Room Tip: Think of what u want sun in the am/pm?? Dont pay extra for pool view. I loved Rm 164

“VERY ENJOYABLE STAY”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 11 February 2012

We stayed at La Siesta for one week 29th Jan to 4th Feb 2012 and all I can say that some of the reviews on this site are rather unfair so say the least. We were travelling with our elderly mum and as we were on a very early flight only one room was available on our arrival. Without us even asking, the lady on reception noted that the rooms we had been allocated were not together, she informed us that she could move our mum the next day and to our delight she had been moved two doors down and also upgraded, without charge to a lovely superior room. There are some comments on here saying the reception staff are rude, we couldnt disagree more, they were very polite, friendly and super helpful...Thank You :-)

We were in rooms 29 and 27 on the ground floor, very spacious, larger than a lot of the other hotels in the area, with plenty of wardrobe space. They have a lovely patio area and your own sunbeds so you can sunbathe in private should you want to get a way from the crowd for a while. They were super quiet, we had no problems whatsoever with outside noice of any kind. The rooms and hotel are super clean throughout, it has a nice relaxed atmosphere and is ideally located, just far away from the hustle and bustle, but just a short walk away from all the bars and entertainment.

The dining room staff are very efficient, yes sometimes at peak evening dining times you do have to wait a short time to be seated, but your table is layed straight away so we didnt find this too much of a problem. We found breakfast to be lovely, plenty of choice, again when it got busy occasionally you had to wait for cereal bowls, but throughout the week of our stay this only happened once. The food of an evening was plentiful and always replenished, we would say however that we have had better evening fayre in other hotels in the area, it didnt exactly blow us away, but it was pleasant and varied and we certainly didnt feel the need to eat out at any time, and we certainly didnt find it cold as some reviewers have observed. One thing we really liked about the dining room is that the tables are well spaced out, so you dont feel that the person on the next table is sitting on your knee listening to your conversation, as we have found in other hotels.

The pool area had a nice relaxed atmosphere, we found it to be clean and well kept. The sunbeds are not layed out of a morning, you have to get your own, but if you need assistance the lifeguard will help you out and get your beds for you, the only negative we would say here is, quite a few of the beds had seen better days and were a bit uncomfy but there were plenty available and we soon swapped for a better one. The animation team were great fun encouraging people to take part in various activites but without being too pushy. The pool bar/restaurant was good, efficient service, nice snacks / meals, particularly the salads which were huge, price-wise comparable with other hotels in the area.

To sum up, this is our second stay at this lovely hotel and certainly wont be our last, we feel that some of the reviews on here are a bit unfair, you get what you pay for and this hotel we found to be very reasonably priced and value for money.

Room Tip: Some of the ground floor rooms have their own large patio areas with private sunbeds for sunbathing...

“I Can't Understand The Complaints”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 10 February 2012

Few hotels are perfect and I find some of the reviews I have read petty, or they stayed in a different hotel to me. The hotel is perfectly positioned and central to everything in Las Americas. The staff are very friendly and helpful. If something is wrong they fix it without much fuss. The hotel is spotlessly clean and the rooms are spacious. The food while not a la carte is varied and plentiful if you can avoid the Spanish , who think they have a right not to queue, then meal times are a fine experience. The evening entertainment was not for me and I ventured out, as there is plenty going on all around the hotel and bars etc. The hotel is inexpensive. £2 a pint. £2.25 for a glass of wine. If you like shopping there's millions, however they seem mainly to be empty as the Spanish seem to have fallen on hard times, just like many others. There was a hard working animation team who gave 100% effort into what ever was on. No music around the pool made it very peaceful and the pool was warmish. The one fault I have is that the sunbeds were not released from their chains until 10am meaning many were stood around in the sun waiting for somewhere to lay.
There were many "hotel snobs" around wanting to complain a the smallest thing. I will and did complain, but found the hotel acted immediately and put right what was wrong. This is a clean an lovely hotel which is in a great location and all I can say about the negative reviews is "get a life".

Room Tip: Ask for a room facing the pool

“Recent holiday to la siesta”

On arrival at the hotel we were very pleased. The hotel was centrally located. We were given rooms at the back of the hotel which were large and spotlessly clean.

We stayed for a week dinner bed and breakfast in January this year. We found the food to be plentiful but poor quality, So ended up eating out rather than in the dining room.

The pool area was lovely looking with a nice big swimming pool but unfortunately the tiles at the bottom of the pool were filthy. Also the staff did not set out the loungers in the mornings and as a large percentage of the residents were elderly this proved problematic.

Some of the staff were friendly and helpful others were extremely rude.

I would not rate the hotel as having four stars.

Room Tip: Ask for a rooms overlooking the pool, although we did we did not get them.
