The price level was little bit high concerning another places but it not kill us ;=)

Room Tip: Not so suitable selection at wintertime because they had only cooling unit not heating devices. It...

“January get-away - very relaxed”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 1 February 2012

Had a week in January staying at this hotel as we wanted a relaxing break. The staff were friendly and helpful at all times (reception, managers, waiters, spa staff, chefs and the lovely chambermaids who always say good morning). The food was plentiful and tasty. There should be something for everyone.
I also had a birthday out there and the staff figured this out from our check-in details and made the day extra special providing bubbles to drink in our room, a note to say happy birthday and birthday wishes at dinner.
The hotel is right on the beach (yes there are stairs but that just helps with working off the dinners!!) which is gorgeous. Quite a few fat naked men (and some women) so if you would prefer not to see then maybe this part of Fuerteventura isn't for you.
The pool was lovely and terrace pleasant although there isn't a huge amount of space between loungers. It didn't feel too busy though, whether because the weather in Jan isn't when people sunbathe or because in general people go to the beach (as we mostly did). Had a disappointing lunch at the pool bar, better to go and find lunch elsewhere.
I didn't use the gym. It looked ok. Small, but not busy. Though since people seem to struggle with stairs maybe it never gets busy!
We had a partial sea-view as we decided not to pay the extra. The room was clean and spacious and the shower wonderfully powerful.

“Amazing sunsets from sunny balcony”

Had a great time over Christmas and New year. This was our second visit to a Riu hotel. The hotel is set on and in the rocks there are lots of stairs and getting to the beach from our room meant using two different lifts or stairs and corridors. The food and service were very good the maitre de or restaurant director Pablo was very good and spoke good english, most of the guest were german i think and most were mature with only a few kids which meant the hotel was quiet. Especially in the evenings but its not far into town. Dinner is in two sittings 6 and 8 we chose the 8.
The hotel is a bit more refined that the Riu Tres Islas in Corelejo and we had better rooms we had a room that was on two levels the top part had a nice big bed and a nice big corner bath there was step down to the lower part which had a sofa, flat screen tv and a balcony which was great to sit out on the afternoon. As the rooms were partly carpeted you dont hear much noise from the other rooms. there was plenty of food and fresh fruit and they didn't mind you taking fruit away. We tried lunch but were not impressed even the espresso was like weak instant so we didn't eat lunch in the hotel again we liked the Olyimpo opposite the lighthouse. Bar drinks can be expensive although you get a good measure, a JD and Cola Light 11€ and the mini bar is stocked which was nice. We hired a car from the airport and were a little concerned about parking but didn't have a problem. Some friends were staying at different hotels and Pablo arranged extra seats for our friends who came to dinner @ 30€ each. Two of which have booked 10 days at the hotel. Oh nearly forgot we had a big crack running through the room filled in with pollyfiller which was a little worrying. We would go back.

Room Tip: I think it has two main wings we were in A block and got the sun on our balcony in the afternoon whi...

“Dangerous place to be!”

If you value your health and safety don't go! We went at the end of October and were served food with glass in it at our first breakfast. Our room A307 had cracks in the ceiling ,floor, walls and balcony large enough to fit your fingers. We also spotted similar size cracks elsewhere around the hotel. A fan blade from the ceiling fan flew off just missing my wife's head. How Thomson can rate this as a 5T hotel I do not understand.

Room Tip: Ask for one without cracks.

“Relaxing get-away”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 9 January 2012

My overall impression is somewhere in between average and very good.

Service: Waiters and cleaning staff were very friendly and attentive. There was a bit of a language barrier with the front desk however, very few speak English well enough to understand your point. Was lucky to have a German speaking boyfriend by my side!

Room: We were in D-203, full ocean view (no obstruction from any palm trees). The patio was the perfect place to watch the sunset. The rooms are very large and clean, but are really showing their age. All we heard at night was the soothing sound of the waves crashing on the shore. As other travelers had stated, there are many, many stairs to navigate to get through the labyrinth of a layout.

Buffet: Most of the food was bland. We found a few go to foods and kept eating the same things everyday. There was a great assortment of fruits at breakfast. I tend to be a healthy eater and found it quite easy to keep up my diet. My one indulgence was the ice cream for dessert, was quite tasty!

Entertainment: Was geared to the 65+ crowd, but I'm not sure even people in that demographic were pleased. The main lounge felt like stepping into a time warp back to the 80's. This room desperately needs an update, entertainers included.

Just an observation, the average age of the hotel guests is somewhere in the 60's. A lot of these guests are quite "free" with their bodies by the pool, so consider yourselves warned (it didn't really bother me, but seems like an important piece of information to pass on).

Who should stay here? Retired couples wanting to relax. German speakers will feel at home.
Who shouldn't stay here? Anyone looking to party, especially the under 30 set.

Room Tip: Try to get the full ocean view room, the views are just gorgeous.
