“Very clean and tidy”

We went 1-8 Feb 12 to Club Magic Life the staff were all very friendly and helpful. The staff came round offering drinks whilst we were queueing to check in. The food there was very good. No one can fault the selection or quality of the breakfast items and the food was always hot.
The evening meal had a good choice on most days, although you could struggle if you were a particularly fussy eater on the speciality nights. Having said that there was somewhere to get food 24 hours a day, so nobody would go hungry.

The grounds were pristine with lots of greeny and it was lovely and quiet. I think there was 77 steps down to the beach, and they would not be suitable for people with mobility problems. Our Room was clean and tidy and the chambermaid Vanessa did a lovely job each day, there were a couple of little faults in the room but nothing worth complaining about.

You could struggle to have a lie in in the morning as the staff start about 8 and the blocks tend to echo the noise, but then who stays in bed when they are on holiday.

All in all a very good holiday and would definately go back again.

Just a word of warning There is a naturist beach off to the right of the hotel as you come down the steps (It is marked on the hotel map) so do not be surprised if you see naked bodies on the beach so if your likely to be offended, don't go that way!

“OK for the Money ....”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 10 February 2012

I would say the guests in this hotel were about 80% german. Also the age profile was probably mainly on the elderly side. So we did feel at times we were starring in a German version of the film Cocoon!! Having said that we did meet some lovely English people and the hotel is very quiet (which we like). The hotel is high on a cliff and is not built to cope well with the wind, which this week was plentiful. We had to make little sunbed nests to make it bearable. Guests were very inventive actually making things to stay out of the cold wind.

Also, if you are not good on your feet, the path down to the beach is hazardous as is the walk along the beach (take good footwear). We were OK but saw a lot of people struggling over the rocks and stones. Also it does not help that you keep seeing the dangly bits of people who like cavorting round the beach in the nuddy, when you are trying to watch your step!! The chipmunks appeared confused over the wide variety of nuts on offer .....

On the nuddy topic, we think its quite funny but have to look away for reasons of sanity and some people looked like they needed a good iron. However, we were annoyed that when we went to use the SPA we could only use it if we went naked!! Surely this must be some sort of equality issue. We didn't by the way ... we ran out.

I was not expecting it to be 5 star for what we paid and I would agree with other comments. Our room was spacious and clean but the furnishings were jaded, our curtains were a bit ripped and there was an old looking telly/furniture etc. But it was fine and the bathroom was good with plenty of hot water for a bath and a good extractor fan (excellent when your husband is eating All Inclusive)!!! The room was cold though at night and I had to put two, what looked like horse hair blankets on my bed to get warm. Also, there is nothing on the TV for us but the news. It did say Channel 2 was "DVD English". I rang Reception to see if we could rent a film but the conversation was hilarious as she had no idea what I was talking about. She asked me what the channel was - pointless conversation!!

We also had have a condom hanging from our smoke detector, which someone had obviously put over so they could smoke in the room. Housekeeping had not noticed it and my husband had to pull it down.

The food was plentiful and very varied, the red wine put on the tables was suprisingly good. However, the additional restaurants, with the exception of the Argentinian one, were disappointing. Note to Manager - 4 Chinese Lanterns and some Wasabi does not a Thai Restaurant make. Overall though we thought the food offer was good and the drinks. The entertainment was OKish but the Fantasia show gave us both nightmares and to this day we are not sure what was going on. Missed parrots on a tightrope too - a particular holiday favourite of mine. Sorry to go on about it but the Wunder Bar area, pub thing etc were very cold at night.

One final point. Don't bother taking nice dresses etc. People did not seem to bother dressing for dinner. There were shorts allowed in the restaurant at night. The only time I saw a member of staff intervene was when a man tried to enter the cafe at lunch time wearing his neon coloured budgie smugglers. Even on Gala Night not many people seemed to dress up.

Oh and the staff are not rude but do expect them to look suprised if you ask them anything!!!

Room Tip: Try and get one without a condom hanging over your smoke detector

“Disappointing Overall”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 9 February 2012

We have usually stayed at the jandia princess, but decided to stay at magic life as the princess is closed for refurbishment. We had heard from previous guests that the club m,agic was exceptional, but i did not think so. We had excellent flights and transfers, the reps Margaret and Ema were on hand regularly at the hotel.
The rooms are spacious and beds comfortable, but we did find the rooms cold, as did a few other guests the heating in the rooms did not work,
The rooms cleaned daily towels and bedding changed regularly, staff very pleasant.
The food was a problem we are not fussy eaters, but the choice was very limited at times, especially if you aren't fish eaters, there is a whole lot of fish....., there are themed evenings and they stick to this so the variety on themed evenings is poor.
Breakfast is excellent.
If you like to go back in the evening to unwind and watch a little tv, then the english channels are bbc world news, and sky news. then around 6 spanish channels, followed by 15 german channels. I think this hotel has by-passed the english guests, and cater solely for the german guests which is rather sad, as the jandia princess caters for both, with more choice of food and better quality food.
Would not return to this hotel.

“Magic Club Life Jan 2012”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 5 February 2012

Very impressed, our first all inclusive and we will do it again. We have nothing to compare, but Thompsons/Clib Life did it very well. Organisation very good, facilities excellent, though if there was a criticism, it was that we did not realise how much sport/leisure was available, all day every day if you wanted.

The drinks tended not to be famous branded, but tasted fine. It was quiet at the end of January, it could get a bit congested in high season, I would avoid it then. No one abused the alcohol, I suspect the management would monitor this for the good of the majority.

Food was very good, though the buffet format was a little overwhelming and at the end of 7 days, I wanted a pizza. Found the snack bar with pizzas!! Speciality restaurants available on a rota basis.

It can be full RnR or activity based: gym, spa (extra) MTB excursions: beginners to experienced, Road bikes: beginners to extreme; water sorts (extra). Loved it all.

Yes it is German orientated! But everyone on the staff spoke English. Let's be honest, if I want Blackpool with sun, I would go to Benidorm.

Windy! 3/7 days, it was necessary to seek shelter to sunbathe, once found it was fine. 4/7 days much calmer, hot and sunny for a good 4/5 hours.

The complex, north of Jandia is a little remote, though the town is an hours walk, local buses etc.

Any other exploring, then sign up for the trips or hire a car.

Room Tip: Not adjacent to the night club! Though the noise was well constrained, the commings ang goings would...

“Very good, but could benefit from better kids club”

Mr Lard (36) Mrs Lard (29) and Mast Lard (4).
Stayed 18-25 January booked through Thomson On-line

First time to Fuerteventura and have to say we were very pleased, as usual did my research through TA and was pleased with the overall feedback. We had paid the little extra for the sea-view which was well worth it. We stayed in Block 17 room 101 which turned out to be great as you will see from the photos. It had a full view out to sea and a side view of the large pool. Our block was less than a 5 minute walk to the main buffet and entertainment areas so this meant a quiet night's sleep. As you will see from the photos as highlighted in other reviews the room's could do with slightly modernising in decoration but that was the only improvement I would make. The beds were unusually comfy, good wardrobe space a fridge and a decent sized bathroom with a good shower.

The mini supermarket and gym was less than 2 minutes walk. The gym could do with a bit more equipment in there as common favourites bike, cross trainer and running machine were constantly in use so a couple more of these would have been helpful.
Food was fantastic in the buffet restaurant so we didn't eat elsewhere. All the staff around the hotel I have to say were exceptional who gave the impression they were genuinely helpful and friendly in their roles.

We agreed that we would come here again for a family holiday but our only concern was keeping our son entertained. The hotel is very geared toward the German market which from my experience tends to show the good sign of a hotels standards. The only down side of this was the kids club consisted of German children so communication for our son was an issue. I think that certainley for the summer period a 'Thomson' run kids club would benefit the English speaking kids whom i'm sure are stay here in great numbers.

Any questions please send me a message
