We have been visiting the Adler for over 10 years, mainly as a stopover while driving from London to Milan. Glottertal is less than 10 minutes easy drive from the A5 Basel - Karlsruhe motorway.
The atmosphere is wonderful, the food is good but it is the warmth of the welcome that keeps us coming back. The rooms are simply furnished, but quiet and spacious. The cooking is to a high standard with an emphasis on local produce. Don't miss the roast goose at Christmas.
There is plenty to explore in the area and we spent a whole week here one summer. Apart from the attractions of the Black Forest it is only a few minutes drive to Freiburg and the Europa Park theme park is also close by.
Glottertal must be a candidate for the friendliest village in Europe. I strongly recommend that you give it a try when passing the area.
