“ideal for family ski holiday”

We arrived early 8.30 and the girls on the desk were superb we were in our room in no time with convenient under ground parking close by.The location is ideal with a brilliant bus service to near by plagne centre and plagne belleocote. You are a two minute walk to the chair lift which puts you in plagne centre. There is a games room for the kids a bar , restaurant and swimming pool sauna and squash if you still have the energy after skiing all day. There is a supermarket next door and a couple of other bars and restaurants in the village. The worst thing i could say about the place is the studio was a bit on the small side so i would opt for the larger one next time. Oh and the ski area is superb and easy to get around but was busy at half term especially at belleocote where they all seem to meet so we just avoided at busy times. All in all i would have to recommend this for a good value family ski break.

“Less basic than expected.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 9 January 2011

We stayed here for 2 nights. The stay was comfortable and pleasant. The studio apartment slept 4 people and was functional. well-eqipped and well-designed. We appreciated the use of a ski locker and of the heated outdoor pool and indoor sauna. As we had a good lunch in town (La Plagne Centre, - try La Grolle - it does a good value Petit Skiiers menu and is a friendly place to go) we used the nearby Spar Suprtmarket to buy baguettes and cheese etc which did for our evening meal. If you need more sustenance, there is a very good pizza restaurant near to main reception just below the Spar Supermarket..

“The beautiful alps made up for a week on a fold down bed..”

Lauze apartments are functional but I wouldn't stay there again. The check in procedure is very stressful and long winded after travelling. Take your own towels, they'll charge you 8E per week to rent theirs.
We paid through the nose for half board, this only included two choices from starter, main and dessert which is a first in my experience.
Each room has it's own ski locker on the ground floor, opened and locked with the room key which was nice for peace of mind.
The 'spa' is quite nice- saunas with a heated outdoor pool which is very pleasant at the end of a day.
The actual apartment (we had a 4 person studio) is only really big enough for two, or two people and two small children. Two couples would really struggle in there. There was only one balcony chair. The Hoover was broken, I had to stick something on a hole in the bottom to create a vacuum. The kitchen was well equipped and the bathroom quite nice and new.
You have to clean the apartment yourself- they don't check this as there was stuff under the sofa bed, so how clean it is when you start your occupancy would be hit and miss I think. They took a 200E deposit on check in and on checkout tried to charge us 'City Tax' until we pointed out we'd come on a package, so watch that one. We cleaned the apartment very well and took photos, time will tell whether they touch our deposit or not.
The food in the restaurant was nice on the whole and the restaurant staff were really lovely- I can't praise them enough.
Overall, I loved the ski-area but wouldn't return to Lauze apartments. This maybe because we usually do catered chalet trips and this wasn't nearly the same, but some people might like it.
We stayed in the 'Soldanelle' apartments, outside which the ski bus went every 15 minutes which was very convenient (although a chairlift does go from the bottom of the hill).and the Spar supermarket was only 2 minutes walk away.
Holidays are what you make them and we had a brilliant time in La Plagne, but will always do catered chalets in future.

Many thanks for posting your review. We are pleased that you enjoyed your stay and the location and facilities of your apartment, including the ski lockers, spa and outdoor pool. However, we are very sorry that the level of cleanliness did not meet your expectations. We have logged your review and have passed your feedback on to head office and our management teams. In regards to the size of your room, our website and brochures outline room dimension, size, furnishings and equipment available. We do encourage that bigger groups upgrade to bigger rooms to ensure they have enough space to be comfortable. It also states on our website that, as our residence is not a hotel, we do not provide services such as towels and pre-check in/post check out cleaning, however, we do offer bolt-on services such as housekeeping and bedding/towels at the time of booking allowing customers to work out a total budget prior to booking. Thank you for taking the time to post a detailed review. We are committed to improving our standard of accommodation whenever we can therefore your comments are most helpful.

“Great Location, Excellent value for money”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 6 February 2010

My partner and I stayed in Maeva Plagne Lauze for a week in Feb 2010. We stayed in a studio apartment for 2-4 people. We were really impressed with the apartments which had a fully equipped kitchen, all utensils, microwave, dishwasher, hob and fridge. The main living area had a pull out bed (which was comfortable) and a sofa, small dining table, and we also had a balcony. The studio also had a bath, which after a day on the slopes is essential!! This studio was advertised for being able to sleep 2-4 people, I would say it was perfect for 2, but would have been impractical for 4. The hotel also offers you free use of its sauna and outdoor pool - the pool has panoramic views of the mountain.
Location wise, this was also very good, there is a small downhill walk to a chairlift from which you then get a 2nd lift up providing full access to the whole ski area. We got the local area pass which was more than ideal for intermediate skiers, however, for those more advanced (Skiers/boarders) there are more reds to be found in Les Arcs, so may be beneficial to buy the paradiski pass. One thing we would really recommend is booking your ski hire on line before you go away. We paid 67 Euros for a week's intermediate ski hire, the tour operator on the transfer coach offered the same package at 140 euros. We used Sport 2000.
Apres Ski - this is limited in La Plagne 1800 (2 bars/2 restaurants-all very nice) if you are looking for a livlier night out there is a free bus which runs between all La Plagne villages until late (5 mins from 1800 - to the centre).
We were looking to go on a ski holiday where we could keep our costs down, and this was absolutely perfect, we would recommend both resort and accommodation!

“Lovely Traditional French Ski Village.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 5 March 2009

My partner and I stayed the february half term week 2009 with our 2 teenage kids,
Our 1 bedroom Apartment was a good size with for a family of 4, with fully equipped kitchen, balcony, storage for ski etc,
The kids loved the outside heated pool, perfect after a days ski.
we would recommend anyone to stayed here.
Tips:
1. Rent extra towels as they are quite small for each person.
2. If you can take a laptop to watch DVD, we rented the TV, but only had french channels.
3. Try Mama Mia pizza restaurant, delicious!!

The only down size would be that our village only had 1 drag lift , there is only 1 chair lift to take you to all the ski facilities unless you hike up the hill to the bus stop. not really that practical for non ski'ers who just want to sit and people watch.
