“Great Location - Ski in ski out...”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 30 January 2012

We visited the Sepia apartments in January 2012. They are at the bottom end of the villiage close to 4 lifts - 3 lifts you can ski down to from the Ski/boot room - the other lift you can ski to from the entrance to the apartments. We shared a room for 7 (4 of us).

Rooms were of a good size - 1 with a double bed - 1 with bunk beds - then there was the living room that had to large sofa/beds and a pullout bed. We did not need to use these. There was a good Microwave/grill, toaster, coffee maker, fridge, dishwasher and hob with 4 x rings. Plenty of utensils and plates etc. We had 2 x bathrooms - 1 with shower/wc (a little tired) /basin and 1 with bath and basin.

The living room had a large table that could seat 7 comfortably. TV had mainly French channels but it did have BBC1!

There was plenty of storage. On arrival sheets/bedding was not made and comes sealed plastic bags.

Our apartment was next to the ski room and therefore our balcony was on the piste! Could not have been closer to the slopes - at the end of the day we skied to the balcony and passed the skis over! The only negative was it was a bit of a treck to the villiage centre and to the supermarket.

Avoriaz s a lovely place - we would go back :-)

Room Tip: Ask for a room on the ground floor close to the ski room.

“Nice place”

The residence is located close to the centre but in the lower part of the town. It's close to the ski lifts and a little shop. The appartement was good, but on French standard, so it was a little bit small. The best thing to do is to hire a bigger place, maybe for 5 person if you come as a couple. The beds were too small and short! The place was clean with a terrace and a dishwasher.

“Excellent views! (Review for Pierre & Vacances Residence Sasskia)”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 18 April 2011

I stayed at the P&V Residence, Sasskia in La Falaise (Avoriaz). This was a self-catering apartment which was compact, neat and very clean. Utensils, a cooker, fridge (but no freezer) and dishwasher were available, as was a TV. The views over Morzine, and the mountains were breathtaking. The service was good and efficient: the apartments are well served by cafes and a supermarket nearby. Would love to come again!

“Lovely resort... great accommodation!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 10 April 2007

Just came back from a short Easter break in Avoriaz. We were a group of 5 adults all staying in a single bedroom apartment [1 double bed in the bedroom and 3 beds in the living room].
We hadn’t intended to all stay in a single bedroom apartment situated at the lower/mid section of the resort but were forced to due to such a last minute booking. At the end of it all we were all glad we had. I hope the following information helps with your choice of accommodation:

Location:

I think the location was perfect. You can ski to and from the apartment. The ski lifts, ski rental shop, medical centre and restaurants just a few steps away. The supermarket together with more shops and restaurants could easily be accessed via a lift near the apartment block as well. The cable car transporting people to and from the resort is right in front of the apartment. For those learning to ski, the French ESF ski school is next door and the English Apline Ski School just a short ski lift away!

Room:

The room consisted of a large bathroom, large living room and small double bedroom. The large living room consisted of a kitchenette area, dining area, and seating area where 3 people can also sleep. The kitchenette contained a dishwasher, small fridge, coffee machine, electric hob, oven and regular appliances. There are sufficient storage areas in all the rooms as well as a storage locker in the basement for ski equipment. The balcony overlooked a lovely view of the resort.

Service:

The reception in this block is not 24 hour, so during closed hours keys/information can only be obtained from another block of Pierre & Vaccances apartments…quite a walk away! Other than that there is nothing really negative about the service. Staff at the reception were friendly and spoke fluent English. With short notice, they managed to extend our check out time from 12 noon to 6pm [we needed to pay 30 euros]. The towels, sheets, pillows were all readily provided. The room (except the kitchenette) will only be cleaned once you check out; it is your responsibility to clean the kitchenette area. Dishwasher tablets and a vacuum cleaner were provided.

Overall I had much lower expectations for this 3* serviced apartment so was pleasantly surprised. Would definitely stay there again and recommend it to my friends and family.
The resort itself was great too!
