I stayed here with two mates in Augist 2008. We knew the hotel was around 6km from St Tropez centre but in reality it is actually more like 10km. I know this because we walked in to town the first night and it took 1hr 30 mns! The hotel itself is actually OK, rooms are basic and there are limited facilities but the pool is nice and generally quiet during the day. The main issue is location and the price of taxis. To get a taxi into town it costs €40! There is nothing around the hotel so unless you want a nice quiet break beside the pool then I advise against staying here (unless you accept that you will have to pay €40 each time you go in or out of town). Because there is nothing around the hotel you could spend €160 a day if you are going to the beach in daytime and out for dinner at night. There is a bus stop roughly 20 minutes walk away but the times are erratic to say the least and they are less than frequent. If you want to see St-Tropez I advise you to increase your budget and stay somewhere closer to town, it's definitlely worth it.

We seem to have settled into a routine now for one of our annual holidays: fly to Nice, off to Jimmy'z in Monaco for classic CDA weekend then five days at the outstanding Font Mourier for St Tropez extravaganza.

Although a short stay, it was fantastic. Nice service, giant hot lattes in a beautiful room and a pool scene that beats some of the more famous places in the region. There is a pretty patio, but we stayed inside the air conditioned room. Getting back to night time, we headed to the nighclubs in the town. There seemed to be an rich industry crowd and even perhaps some ladies who were there looking to meet some men who might be lonely and well-to-do! ;)

From there on, it was another superlative stay - the staff are just great, Jean-Pierre the concierge fixed and sorted and dealt with planning and reservations before I found an issue, dealt with my car hire like a dream. Carrefour around the corner is amazing for buying good value bottles of lovely bubbly!

The drivers especially Carp and Walters were very efficient. Don't take taxis here as they are extortionate.

We stayed at the Relais Font Mourier for one night in August 05, as we had booked another hotel through france hotels but it was overbooked and they relocated us here. It was passable but considering it cost us £100 we felt royally ripped off. This was a 2 star hotel and due to its proximity to st tropez they were charging 3* plus prices. Generally in France one can find reasonable accommodation but this felt like a caravan park. Very basic, nothing like the photos on the website. It was clean and close to the le foux roundabout, which was all it had going for it. Very noisy airconditioning.
