“Not worth it”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 9 January 2012

Stayed here in January 2012- The pool looked nice (didn't use it due to it being Jan) & and the outside of the building gave impression of it being top notch- Upon entry, the place was somewhat a mess as they are doing some renovations so that was understandable. It’s the little things that bothered me, like gum (not just 1 piece) stuck to the wall of the elevator, windows and walls with a grimy film upon them, & a young staff that just didn’t seem to care. The room had a good view, I won’t deny that as it should since it was the “Deluxe Marina View w/ Balcony” but that was it.. In fact the room was very sub-par in my opinion, especially after paying $129 a night. There was a coffee machine but it was missing ½ the parts to include the coffee. There was some sludge looking stuff under the sink and few bobby pins left behind that obviously were not cleaned via the staff. The bed stunk, not like being lumpy or hard, but it actually stunk which made me question the bed and/or sheets for cleanliness. The ice bucket was dirty & didn’t even come w/ a plastic liner thing to use. NO Refrigerator! * “Deluxe Room” with no fridge??? The only positive thing was breakfast, I’ll admit it was great. This place really has the potential to be something nice, but management needs to address more than a few things to get my $129 ever again. Other than all that, save some money, pick a budget hotel (they come with fridges) and spend your breakfast at Denny’s or IHOP.

“Great Hotel for the Price”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 31 December 2011

We stayed here and we thought the lobby was very upscale. The rooms were fine. I am partial to cream furniture. The view out the window was nice; it overlooked the harbor. We were very tired so we took a walk along the harbor and then turned in early. The next day, we were up early for the delicious breakfast buffet. It was terrific. Marie, our server, was very nice and accommodating. All in all, it was a good stay and uneventful. I would stay here again!

Room Tip: Ask for a harbor view.

“Nice stay, but not a resort”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 December 2011

I agree with some of the other reviews that this hotel is nice but not a resort. My wife and I recently spent the night here following a corporate Christmas party. The ballroom for the party was great and it was extremely nice to be able to leave the party and go to our room rather than drive home. We had a king bed with balcony and water view. The room was nice and clean. The furnishings were dated. The room was large with a lot of empty space due to lack of furnishings. I've been in nicer rooms in Hampton Inn's but there was nothing wrong with the room at all. Just a bit dated. The view over the marina was tremendous. We arrived about 2pm. The restaurant was already closed so we ordered room service, which was reasonably priced and arrived in less than 20 minutes and was quite good. We had breakfast the next morning at the hotel restaurant and it was outstanding! I think this hotel was great for the price. It's not a resort, but they didn't charge resort prices either. One downer was the lack of a heated pool or hot tub in a "resort" hotel. So if you are there in the winter there is nothing to do inside the hotel. I would not use this hotel as a "destination" hotel but if you are in the area for business, or an on-site conference, or sightseeing in the area then this is a good place to stay.

Room Tip: Request a balcony with a water view.

“Explore All Options Before Scheduling This Hotel”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 13 November 2011

We stayed in this hotel for a conference, and I was surprised by how many things were NOT offered by this hotel. The hotel staff was wonderfully nice and helpful, but we needed so much more to make the conference work for ALL attendees. First, there is no business center (never assume). So in order to print and make copies, we had to go the front desk. They were accomodating, but we had to go to them several times and did not have the ability to make necessary changes. With a business center we could have worked much more efficiently. Also, "unlimited coffee," turned out to be unlimited for a ridiculously high amount. It was almost offensive that coffee would be so expensive when the conference brought high profile individuals, several room reservations, several meals for the restaurant, as well as the cost of the conference room along with the extra costs for AV equipment. Interestingly internet service was complimentary in the guest rooms, but costs about $200 if used in the conference room. I strongly suggest to get all costs upfront (even if some questions seem silly) before scheduling a conference at this hotel.

The location was nice, the view was nice depending upon what side of the hotel you were on. The rooms were large, but very dark, and my room was extremely cold initially. I requested someone fix the thermostat and was told that maintenance would come up and do so. Two hours later I called the front desk back because maintenance had not arrived. I talked to the same front desk staff member who didn't seem to remember my first request. The thermostat was fixed the next morning, and I had no further problems with the temperature in my room. Because the shower curtain was fabric, there was water all over the floor after showering. What I didn't soak up with towels, was NOT cleaned up by the maid service. Finally, the gym. In order to use the gym, you had a pay an extra amount for each use. It was less than $10, but why was I asked to pay extra when I was paying to stay at the hotel?

It took 30 minutes to check me out because there were several mistakes on my bill and personal information. Every time I pointed out one mistake, a new bill was printed, and I would find another mistake. I can only contribute the problems to the system. The lady at the front desk seemed to be inputting the information correctly, and the mistakes just did not make sense, but it was one mistake after another.

There are so many choices for hotel stays and conferences. I would definitely explore others before staying here or scheduling an event here again.

Room Tip: Request a room with a balcony overlooking the water. Request a room away from the elevator.

“Conference Material”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 7 November 2011

Had the opportunity to stay at this hotel during a conference. Staff friendly and pleasant. Rooms spacious and clean but without amenities of moderate hotels i.e. microwave and mini fridge. Unfortunately, for an upscale hotel only one elevator worked. One other disadvantage was the onsite restaurant. During the lunch hour, you could only order the buffet. This is not a plus when you're not a heavy lunch eater. Ample parking, great lighting. Location within close proximity to several restaurants.
