“Took 12 family members for the weekend... WHAT AN EMBARRASSMENT”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 18 August 2010

No air conditioning and the inside of my room was over 90 degrees at 9:30 in the evening. Was told for 3 hours that a maintenance man was coming... after standing in the parking lot waiting for over 3 hours, (no maintenance man ever showed up and I had a 5:00 wake up call for the a.m.) they finally found an empty smoking room to give me... neglected to tell me the sheets were covered in mildew and mold. Due to prior engagements I could not move 12 people (5 rooms of people) to another hotel the next day... but wanted to. Spent over $900.00 in two days at their hotel and their response to me was to give me a voucher for one room at another La QUINTA.. like i would ever subject myself to that punishment again.

“You get a little less than what you pay for”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 14 November 2008

Pros: really fast check in. Breakfast bar above average for "continental breakfast." Has make-it-yourself waffles. Wi Fi in rooms if you have laptop. Room okay.

Cons: motel is hard to get to. Poor TV reception on NBC channel. I phoned it in, never heard a thing back, and it stayed that way the two nights I was there. Also, I asked for wake up call, then called to cancel it but they did not cancel, frustrating. Finally, if you are in bathroom and someone else above or beside you is in their bathroom, you can hear everything they are saying, er, or doing. Ahem.

“Very Dirty”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 11 May 2008

I am usually very opened minded about hotels. We stayed here because the Holiday Inn Express was booked and it was our son’s graduation. Luckily we weren't in the room for long. I agree with everything JustCruzin669 posted. This was the dirtiest place I have seen in a long time....in fact I don't think I have ever seen a place this bad.

We pulled the covers down on the bed and there was a sock in the bed. The sheets looked dirt, not just stained. We slept in the other bed that looked a little better. We left the card on our pillows asking to have the beds changed for the next night....but it didn't happen.

The bathroom floor, walls and door were all very dirty. The hair drying was smeared with dirt and the bath tub was nasty. There was hair on the floor when were arrived and it wasn’t cleaned up the following day. All that was done in our room by the maid was making up the dirty beds. It was all I could do to stay here.

We were here for a wonderful celebration and didn't have time to find another place. We did complain to the desk clerk, but I'm sure it fell on deaf ears.

I didn't go down for breakfast, but my husband did...not good. I think you could get better breakfast at the gas station near by. If you are Georgetown…find anywhere else to stay.

“Could only stand it for 6 hours”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 26 March 2008

Short answer; it was so abysmal that we left only 6 hours after arriving and found another hotel.

Long answer with all the details:

First some people reported having trouble finding the hotel. This was not an issue for us but the nature of the highway in the Austin area can be confusing for newcomers. Even so I don't see this as a problem specifically with this hotel.

We got there late after a nightmare trip and were so exhausted all we wanted to do was take a quick shower and pass out. The front lobby and what I guess was the area that the breakfast would be served were clean and inviting. The counter clerk was friendly and got us on to our room quickly. So far so good. After that it went way to far down hill to recover from.

The place is set up like a standard hotel from the front but the rooms are actually "motel" style with the room doors opening up outside to the parking lot. Not a big deal but I had figured from the online pictures and the fact that it was called an "Inn" that the rooms would open to a secured hallway not the open parking lot.
The lot itself was a mess. Broken bottles were everywhere and an old ratty fence surrounds it blocking the view to an abandoned lot that hinted of drug use. (That’s not a fact it was just my feeling about the looks of the abandoned lot.)

Once we opened the door to our room things just got worse. The room had obviously been prepared for us having a made bed and everything set in its place but as the lights turned on the level of cleanliness became painfully apparent.

Starting with the bed, the pillows had some sort of black dust on them that spread when we tried to brush it off much like charcoal dust would. Once we pulled back the top blanket the under blanket was yellowed in several spots. It may well have been clean and just stained but none the less I can not accept that they would use a stained blanket at all. The sheets appeared to be clean but by now we wanted all new bedding.

Not too important but the carpet was old and worn. I really did not inspect it but clean or not there is something unpleasant about walking in bare feet on an old looking hotel carpet.

Stepping into the bathroom and even the stained blanket seemed passable in comparison. There was a muddy footprint in the shower along with rust stains from the hand rail and hair stuck to the wall. The sink was clean enough but clearly old and had that grime that builds up around the fixtures that simply will not go away. The toilet was disgusting. Im talking Truck Stop Toilet disgusting. There were several hairs of the unmentionable kind on and in the toilet. Yellow droplet stains on the underside of the lid and seat and worst of all, dirt like the stuff from the pillow all over the toilet paper. We dared not touch it at all.

Exausted past the point of being able to cope we stayed there wrapped in the sheets with the heat on trying to get a few hours rest. Six hours later we quietly checked out headed for a better hotel. The woman at the front desk looked nice enough and I suppose I could have complained to her but I had already booked us in a much higher end (and costly) hotel down the road and I simply did not have the mental energy to cope with even complaining.

Maybe our experience was unusual and I admit I never did give them the chance to make things right but I really don’t think the condition of our room could have been a freak accident or the one room that was in such bad shape. The price is low but not low enough to overcome the multiple issues we had with the room and its lack of cleanliness.

“Great Stay”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 18 November 2007

My husband and I stayed one night at the Georgetown LaQuinta and while we're always a bit nervous booking a motel we've never seen, we were pleasantly surprised. The room was large, clean and comfortable and we always appreciate pet-friendly motels! The check-in process was smooth and quick and the area seemed safe and quiet. This is a great highway motel!
