I apologize for the brevity of this review, but we unfortunatly did not get to spend a lot of time at the hotel on our trip. I booked this hotel at the last minute for a getaway with my husband. We didn't arrive until after midnight (saw a late movie at a theater, then had ice-cream... it's amazing the little things you want to do when you don't have your kids with you!), so I called the hotel close to midnight to let them know we were on our way. The gentleman who answered the phone was very understanding, told me it was no problem, and to come to the front and he would take care of everything. My hubby dropped me and the front door and the gentleman had already alerted the valet to park our car for us (we certainly didn't expect them to park our car at midnight). They unloaded our vehicle, were very friendly, and went out of their way to help us out. The bed was SUPER comfortable (and my husband is very picky about his bed!). The hotel is contemporary and luxorious, and the location to downtown can't be beat. We will definatly stay here again!

This was our 6th stay at the Melrose and it was again perfect. I took my chopper down there for a bike show and they let me park it right by the fountian overnight and kept an eye on it and my trailer for me. They even helped me load it up when we left. Great service as usual.
The regular rooms are very nice look but we always opt for the Corner King and it is great. Ask for it early as these sell out quickly. Nice sitting area, bigger bathroom and tons of windows. If you can, ask for a room away from Oak Lawn as the traffic going by can get a little loud on the weekends.
The Library Bar is without question the coolest, hippest old bar in the USA and I have gotten cocktailed all over the world. Great drinks, great music, great service in an atmosphere that looks like you walked into a 1920's movie. Sink into one of the big chairs and enjoy the ride. And speaking of "rides", the hotel has a very nice shuttle service to take you anywhere you want in downtown dallas and he knows his way around very well.
One of the most overlooked features of the hotel is the restaurant. Great food for breakfast, lunch or dinner. Have eaten there a dozen times and seen 3 movie stars in there as well. Its a beautiful place with windows on 3 sides.
Only draw back for us is the lack of a pool. I understand it is an older hotel and that was not really an option back then but when Bid D gets hot, its nice to cool off in a pool.
All in all, we will continue to go back, just not in the heat of the summer!

Our daughter's wedding was a whirlwind and my wife and I are still catching our breath. Many thanks to the Melrose staff for their assistance and patience with us as we used this beautiful hotel as our central hub for the event (55 rooms or so for the wedding party and out-of-town guests). The staff at the Melrose was a big part of a truly magical four days for everyone. The accommodations were beautiful and well-kept (many of our guests wanted to move-in permanently!). The service at every level was exemplary (every staff member demonstrated sincerity, gratitude, and a superior attitude in attending to our needs). The staff went above and beyond in many instances (day and night) - remarkable! Overall, the Melrose team helped reduce anxiety and contributed greatly to the success of our special event. We knew we could count on them! Please share our gratitude with the Melrose team and tell them that we sincerely appreciate the old-fashion care that was extended. I'm sure that we were "high-maintenance" at times but we never felt unwelcome. You all were a blessing! Thanks again for the help and the memories.

We had approximately 45 rooms at the Melrose for our daughter's wedding. It was a beautiful setting with absolutely wonderful service. Everyone felt so special, in fact two of out guests commented that they decided they would move in!! An experience you shouldn't miss
