We found the Best Western in Childress to be a clean, decent place to stay. Despite the marginal rudeness of the desk clerk, who turned on the No Vacancy sign as soon as we checked in at 9pm although many rooms were still available, we didn't think this Best Western suffered from any huge drawbacks. However, it *is* located right on the highway and our non-smoking room reeked of stale smoke. The breakfast offered is the same continental breakfast that all the value chains offer--protein is available in the form of hard boiled eggs or cheap sausage and gravy. I wouldn't hesitate to stay there again, if passing through.

My wife and I stayed at the Best Western Motel in Childress TX all of Jan. 10 and part of Dec. 09 and our stay was perfect. Great service, fairly priced, excellent breakfast and best of all friendly professional staff at all levels. If you stay in Childress or you are passing through I strongly recommend you try the Best Western you won't be sorry.

older motel right next to busy (day and night) highway. young clerk at check seemed to be the only staff on duty. it seemed all a bit to much for her, although she tried to be friendly. rooms small and muggy. tv and phone did not work. we left this place again 5minutes after check in. we received a computer printout confirming that no charges will be due, BUT still they did charge the night on our credit card. avoid this place as there are many better options in this tornado alley town.

Ok, this place sucks. Our first room that they gave us was recently painted; the smell was so strong that we all got serious headaches. Then they gave us another room (by the way none of the rooms are numbered) which had very uncomfortable beds. Upon arival in our room, I was going through the cabinets and I found an empty case of beer; there were towels in the bathroom that were used (not by us); the tap water is the worst I've ever tasted. And to top it all off, after the first flush of our room toilet, the blumbing backed up filling our toilet with someone elses poop. The lady at the front was very nice but our rom was disapointing. Oh yeah and they charged my mom's bank account a higher price than was on the receipt.
