“Nice West End Hotel”

My husband & I stayed here while he was undergoing testing at VUMC & St. Thomas hospital. It was convenient to both hospitals and we had no problems getting to either facility. Our first room was nice and when this room became flooded after the first day due to a major water leak, management was quick & moved us to a new room with minutes. We were moved to another nice room & not only did management check on us, but so did the maintenance crew. We enjoyed the breakfast buffet which was quite extensive. We will be back again when we have to return to VUMC. We had great encounters with the staff & maintenance and that made our stay even more worth it.

Room Tip: Backside of hotel faces Vandy's football stadium while front side has a great view of the Parthe...

“Holiday Inn Vanderbilt”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 30 January 2012

We stayed at this hotel for 3 nights late January. My son was auditioning for the music school at Vanderbilt. The Positive: This hotel is in a great location, sits on the edge of Vanderbilt and there are restaurants and shops within walking distance from the hotel. There is a complimentary shuttle that will take you within a 3 mile radius plus free parking and WiFi. The staff is very friendly.
The Negative: Room was kind of shabby with torn carpet (but it was clean). Only a walk-in shower and the room and bathroom were small. The cable to the TV did not work correctly all 3 nights. The tech. said they had switched cable companies and were having many problems. I believe a renovation is ongoing and wished we had a newer room. I booked through Hotwire at a reduced rate so feel that is probably why we had an old room. Glad I did not pay full rate for the room but still had to pay $111 a night. Guess we were paying for the location.

Room Tip: Ask for a newer room. We were on the 6th floor. Very little noise.

“Next door to the Vanderbilt football stadium”

Nashville was awesome. We stayed 3 nights at this hotel and then moved down the street to the Courtyard for our last night due to coming on Homecoming weekend and everything was crazy crowded!

The holiday inn could've had bigger rooms and the exec lounge was always empty of snacks. If you arrive at night, the parking lot in the back has a locked entrance to the hotel and you'll end up walking all the way around w/ luggage to get in. However, those are the only slight negatives I can think of.

The hotel has a free shuttle to/from the music strip which is perfect. If you stay out late you might need to catch a cab back, but it's pretty cheap. There is also live music in the hotel in the evenings, although most of it wasn't nearly the quality of downtown, it was nice that it was so convenient. The hotel shuttle will also take you to any restaurants close by which is also a big plus.

The breakfast buffet was amazing - not included with your room, but if you have status you can ask and they *should* include it for free as a perk.

Nashville has lots to see nearby and this was the perfect jump-off point. We went to the Belle Meade plantation, Jack Daniels Distillery, Country Music Hall of Fame, and of course spent lots of time bar-hopping downtown seeing amazing singers. Even the kareoke singers sounded professional to me. Great time.

If you're there for Vanderbilt football - it's right next door, so this is the perfect location. There's also a big park across the street and a museum (I think.)

I'd definately stay again!

“clean, quick, and efficient”

My mother and I stayed here for one planned night in a double nonsmoking room.
We were here for a visit to the Vanderbilt Medical Center.
It definitely fulfilled our needs. It was very clean, comfortable, and roomy.
It exceeded our expectations. The hotel was very conveniently located to the Vanderbilt Medical Center. It was a very quick drive.
We were later to find out that we had to stay another night, and there was no problem with the check-in. There was a room available, and it was just as easy.
The room again, was very clean, comfortable, and roomy.

This holiday inn, is definitely an updated, modern and clean hotel.

Definitely recommend.

One negative comment that I have is, the breakfast buffet was overpriced and inadequate. Food was not very good, but only ate there because of convenience factor.

“Perfect location”

Our stay here was perfect. The location could not have been better. The shuttle service was wonderful. We came here to tour the city and the shuttle was available anytime, pretty much all day for free! The room was clean and the bed was very comfortable. I would stay here again if visiting Nashville.
