“Superb access to medical facilities”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 23 July 2010

Like many of the hotel's guests, we stayed here to be close to the medical facilities nearby. I checked around, and the rate here was a great value. The hotel provides a free drop-off/ pick-up shuttle. The rooms were quite adequate, nothing elaborate, but not at all shabby either. The beds, bath, and cleanliness were all fine, the microwave and fridge are very nice touches, and the wireless internet worked well. It's worth mentioning that one can easily walk to a great variety of restaurants, one of the closest being the Blackstone Brewpub, where the craft beer is superb.

“Nice, clean, great service, nothing special”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 17 June 2010

My wife and I stayed 5 nights for the CMAFestival in June and we enjoyed our stay. We werent spending a ton of time in the room and we're not incredibly picky. The place was clean and kept. Our bedroom had a king bed (which is very firm, but didnt bother me), a nice bathroom, flat screen tv and a kitchenette area (sink, microwave, frig).

We're from Baltimore and found everyone in the hotel (and the city) to be very friendly. The service was great. The shuttle drivers were very nice and accomadating. The front desk was generally very helpful (especially John during the nightshift).

This is a big weekend for the the city and the hotel so it's possible that was a factor.

Not many cons really. We shared a room that had a door to an adjacent room. Though it was locked, it was obvious cigarette smoke managed to seep through. One front desk individual called us a cab and it turned out to be very shady. It was obvious it was not a cab at all, but rather a friend/relative. He did get us where we needed to go at a reasonable fare, but it was a little unnerving. I didnt see that individual at the desk again.

About $8-$10 cab to downtown. Very close to Vanderbilt U, though.

Oh, and the wireless internet was great!

The place didnt WOW us, but we enjoyed our stay.

“No hot water, no internet, terrible bed & bad service!”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 30 March 2010

My husband and I stayed here the last night of our trip. We were an hour early for check-in, but figured we would try. The guy at the front desk was very negative! He acted like we were wasting his time and kept saying over and over again that he was sure there was no way our room would be ready. Thankfully there was a lady at the front desk that was helpful. She looked up our reservation and what do you know our room was ready! The room wasn't anything special but it was very clean. The bed was very dissapointing! I was 7 months pregnant at the time and the bed was low to the ground and rock hard! I felt like I was sleeping on the floor!

The hotel was suppose to have Wireless-Internet but the internet was down until further notice. The worst part of our stay was when we got up in the morning and had NO hot water to take a shower. It turns out one of their boilers was down and if you were above the 2nd floor (we were on the 6th) you couldn't get hot water. We were given a 50% discount when we checked out, but only because my husband asked for a discount. The guy at the front desk never even looked him in the eye. Needless to say we will not be staying here again!

“Good value - Great location - Great customer service!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 17 November 2009

Upon arrival at the Guesthouse Inn & Suites, my friends and I approached the font desk t check in. We were earlier than expected, and exhausted from our 11 hour drive there, but the employee working at the front desk was quick, and very helpful. We got a room on the 6th of 7 floors, the appearance of the hotel is nice, the lobby is open and welcoming, and very clean. The parking garage is easy to park/enter/exit from, with three floors. The elevator was a bit old, but worked just fine, our room was close to the elevator but we didn't hear a thing.

Our room was open, bright, clean, and overall nice. Granite counters, carpet floors, floral bedspreads, bright coloured walls. The air worked great too. We had an okay view from our window, mostly just houses, a parking garage, etc. The microwave and fridge worked great, The only negative thing about the room was the garbages were small.

Maid service was great. The second day she didn't make our beds or vaccum the floor, but left us a note stating they weren't done due to personal belongings left on floor/beds.. we did leave the room a bit messy so i appreciated that they did what they could.

The breakfast food was just okay. Cereal/muffins/pastries/bread were all delicious. Coffee was okay, tea, water, apple juice, and orange juice were also available, and oatmeal. Waffles werethere too, but we didn't eat any, and the hardboiled eggs had a strange texture.

Front desk employees were all extremely nice, and so were all the people in Nashville.

Location: $5 cab ride to Music City area, $8 cab ride downtown or a 20 minute walk. I didn't see any sketchy people around our hotel

We did visit the Holiday Inn Music City and it was much older, and not as clean. The front desk employees weren't around much to monitor the security of the building, and there were a lot of parties going on there. Guesthouse Inn And Suites was very secure, you had to swipe your room key to get in after 10pm, and i'm pretty sure we were the loudest people in the hotel (which wasn't very, although we did have late nights we spent most of them downtown or at our friends hotel Holiday Inn)

I would definitely reccomend this hotel, great value, and great for a weekend getaway.
