“Belles, Bikes & Bubbles is The Best!!!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 15 May 2011

A FABULOUS venue for a weekend away with friends!
Sarah our host was warm and welcoming. Always a smile and nothing too much trouble.
The Belles, Bikes & Bubbles package is magnificent value, and so efficiently organised by Sarah but so laid back at the same time. With evening cocktails on the first night and pre-dinner Bubbles on the second, breakfasts, champagne tastings and lunch at a local winery, dinner, massage and a shopping voucher all included, we felt like royalty moving from event to event without paying at any of them!
The Stables accommodation was clean and comfortable and perfect for our group of friends – plenty of beds (3 Queen size plus other singles) & the fairly open plan bedrooms not a problem.
The area is beautiful and most importantly flat! for the Bikes option, but these are not compulsory and Sarah waved her magic wand (mobile phone) and there was Max in his Maxi Taxi. Wonderful service again.
My only comment for improvement would be to widen the repertoire of cocktails … maybe get yourself a recipe book, or design your own Rutherglen Special!! – the local Stanton & Killeen Muscat with Champagne combination that I tried is Awesome.
Thank you Sarah, and I will definitely be recommending Belles, Bikes & Bubbles to others.

“We had a fantastic girls' weekend away on the Belles, Bikes & Bubbles package-excellent value!”

Just got home from BEST girls weekend ever! Our group of 6 friends stayed 2 nights at Victoria Hotel in the Stables Suite as part of a new package called Belles (or Boobs!), Bikes & Bubbles.
Fantastic value, everything was included - breakfast both days, wine tasting & lunch on Sat, dinner on Sat, drinks Fri & Sat nights, massages, gift vouchers & a t-shirt!
The Stables Suite was clean, warm & comfortable & perfect for our group. We didn't mind that everyone had to walk through everyone else's bedroom to get to kitchenette & bathroom - we're all friends. We were happy to have private facilities, which we knew the main hotel accommodation didn't (most historic pubs don't). Outside lighting would be appreciated though - very dark pathway at night.
Sarah was the most friendly & lovely host - every request was met with a smile, she had organised every aspect of our weekend perfectly, she was professional and welcoming and warm. Will definitely recommend this weekend to others.

“Pay the Extra & Stay Somewhere Else”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 8 May 2011

My father booked himself & his partner plus me and my husband to stay here for two nights for a family wedding we were attending. My dad left me a message before we got there saying the hotel was 'rustic', which I knew would not bode well.
It was a nightmare from the minute we arrived. What was supposed to sleep two couples there was a queen bed and two singles, so my husband and I managed to squeeze in to one. The room has the oddest layout; there was one bedroom, which you entered via the front door, then walked in to the 'lounge', no door separating it, then through a sheet in to the main bedroom, through to the kitchenette (minimal supplies) and the toilet, bathroom, and what was a storage room. So trekking in the middle of night to the bathroom you have to pass through the main bedroom. There are doors everywhere, just not where you need them, so the room offers no privacy.
So if you're not concerned about privacy, you may consider this place. Concerned about hygiene? Then look somewhere else. Sitting at the table, I look down and there is a mouse sitting next to my husbands foot! I lost a sock in one of the beds so ripped back all the sheets to find it, and I question when the last time the sheets were removed, let alone cleaned. There was debris under the sheets, miscellaneous little hairs and half a cockroach. I'm glad we found those the day we were leaving. The bathroom was clean, but look at the ceiling and there were huge cobwebs that would have to have been there for months.
So beware of hotels that use the terms 'original' and 'rustic'. Give them a wide berth and stay somewhere else. The only good thing about this place was that my father paid for it and not us. But even then I would have prefered to pay and stay somewhere else.

“Revolting”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 27 April 2011

My friends and I stayed here recently and were very disappointed. The pictures on line look nothing like the real thing. It was dirty, full of cobwebs, mice and cockroaches. The "kitchenette" consisted of a basic kettle and an old microwave that took forever to heat things up. We had to ask for a toaster. There were no forks supplied, just a few spoons and knives. The walls were very thin so it was incredibly noisy in the evenings. There was no lighting leading from the pub back to the accommodation which was very dangerous as the pavement was uneven and the garden was overgrown and strewn with pots and PVC pipe. I didn't think the staff were all that friendly either. I would never recommend staying here, spend a few extra dollars and stay somewhere clean.
