Adamas Fishing Charters, Queenscliff Boat Ramp, Victoria, Australia.
Our first bad experience with fishing charters was with Adamas Fishing Charters in Queenscliff, Australia. This would be the worst charter we have been on since we started 10 years ago. The Captain changed our plans to depart from Barwon Heads and instead insisted on Queenscliff. Then rang a day ahead to bring the time forward to 5am (from 6am) saying he wanted to catch the Snapper Run. Then refused to go outside the heads, which was always our intended destination. His local knowledge of fishing grounds was non-existent as we aimlessly followed other boats around the bay. We left shortly after 5am only to return to the wharf at 9.45am, short of our alloted 5hours. Between 8 guys we caught 2 snapper and around 10 flathead. This was dismal in comparison to our previous charters, where the catch ran into the dozens of both snapper, flathead and other species, the boat captain who always extended our time at no charge, who had pre-determined GPS marked fishing spots. Adamas Charters had obviously overbooked on our day, within 5 mins of getting back to the pier they had loaded up their next charter and headed out again. All in all a very disappointing fishing trip and I would definitely not recommend this outfit to anyone.
