“a wide variety of activities”

NDSP has a lot to offer. You have a wide variety for the land lover: trails, recreational fields, camp and RV sites, cabins, swimming pool, picnic facilities, etc.
If you enjoy the water, you’ll have plenty of opportunity to fish, swim, and take the boat out on Norris Lake. A couple of museum/visitor’s center is located on the premises. TVA has a small visitor’s center that has an exhibit on the history of TVA in the Norris Region. There are some really nice volunteers (TVA retirees) who have some really good stories to tell. The state park has a museum (free admission) that consists of a barn, mill, and an extensive collection of common items used in the Appalachian Mtns. This museum is really nice (free) appetizer for (but not a replacement of) the nearby Museum of Appalachian.

“Nice park in a beautiful setting”

Stayed here 08/07/04. Nice campground. There are 2 areas, east and west. We stayed in the west campground. It has a nice playground in the center. The restroom/bath house was clean. There was a sign up that they are renovating it in the spring of 2005. We pitched a tent. There weren't a lot of sites with totally flat place for a tent but the one we had (49) was flat. It was nice site on the corner and no one was next to us. There's a swimming pool at the park office that you get a discount on if you show your campsite receipt but we didn't swim. The boat launch at the dam was just a couple minutes away and it's a very nice dock. It was only one lane but we were there on a beautiful Saturday and loading and unloading was not an issue. Norris lake is beautiful with lots of coves in which to hide away. It's clear water and very smooth. We had a very enjoyable weekend. Don't leave your food out at night - there are raccons :)
