“Filthy- Got our $ back”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 31 October 2008

If this is what a Ramada Inn promotes I will NEVER stay in another one. This Hotel was FILTHY. The smell was over whelming. Huge stains on all the furniture, I didn't want to take my shoes off let alone sit on the bed. The sheets were yellow, the bathroom smelled of urine. No WIFI, no pool (out of order). Pillows and towels were thin. We were so discussed the 6 in our party refused to stay. We demanded our money back. With this experiance we do not trust the Ramada logo and will be extremely cautious if we would EVER consider a future stay in one.

“yuck and yuck, run the other way.”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 June 2008

Driving thru to N.c. tired, kids wanted to swim but it had been raining so chose for the indoor pool. Yuck, the hallways smelled horrible, the room did not smell much better. I opened the outter door for fresh air but the creepiness of the hotel itself made me uneasy about leaving it open.

My daughter was bit by a bug in the bed covers and while removing the filthy cig burnt comforters I found dirty, filthy old socks under the comforter on the floor (edge of bed, should have been noticed, had the room been vacuumed because under the beds are inclosed) There were m&ms and other food items also between the beds that were found while removing th comforters. Quite honestly I was disqusted to lay down on the bed but we were so tied that we did. It is now three am and I am awake and feel itchy. Not sure if it is just the thought of the filth or if there were actually bed bugs but I can tell you that I will never stay again (no matter how tired I am or how cheap the room) It just isn't worth it. And the stinginess with the towels hasn't changed in years according to other reveiws.

“Okay for a one-night stay.”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 25 September 2007

We needed a room for a late arrival and an early departure, so we didn't want to spend a lot of money, which we didn't here. The Ramada Ltd, is OK. We were greeted promptly and courteously by the front desk. I had requested a quiet room on an upper floor, but was given a room on the first floor facing the parking lot. The room had a strange smell, perhaps, carpet deodorizer? The towels were very, very thin. I noticed cracker crumbs on the floor between the bed and the nightstand. The complimentary breakfast was very minimal--cereal, toast, bagels, coffee, tea, and juice. The strawberry jam had a strange test. There were no fruits or yogurts. If we stay in this area again, I will try another hotel, rather than returning to this hotel.

“Great value!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 23 January 2007

This place is a terrific value. On arrival the clerk (hotel mgr.) welcomed me by name. She had noted the out of state car tag and made a point of having the booking paperwork already completed when I came through the door! I've traveled all over the world and stayed in some high class hotels but never had that occur before.

My office booked my reservations and the rate charged was $38.00. That was for a room with a king size bed. The hotel has inside corridors and all rooms have balconys or patios. My room was on the first floor. It had an corridor and a patio door. The patio opened to the parking lot. It had a high enough fence between the patio and lot that as a women traveling alone I was not afraid.

The room was very clean. The bathroom was very clean; no trace of mildew or mold. The furnishings were older but serviceable. I have back problems and was afraid an older bed might not be comfortable. However, it was fine and this hotel was very quiet.

I did notice the odd odor others have talked about. I am an engineer. I believe the odor is hydraulic oil from the elevator. When it burns it smells bad and needs replacing. I only smelled it in the lobby and halls;not in the room.

The indoor heated pool was fantastic. It was bathtub warm; almost a hot tub. The pool is visible from the check in desk so a woman alone would be safe there at night.

The free continental breakfast was good. The usual bagel, donuts, cereal, oatmeal, fruit lineup. Considering the price of the room this was a bargain.

The staff was very attentive. I stayed four nights and never did I walk by the desk without being greeted and asked if everything was OK.

This hotel is under new ownership/management. They are in the process of renovation. During the next year all rooms will be redone, the lobby updated, parking lot sealed, pool area retiled.

This is a convenient hotel for Knoxville, Pigeon Forge, Sevierville, and travelers to Asheville. There is a new NASCAR track being built nearby. Several shopping/entertainment centers are scheduled to start construction soon within a couple miles. I have requested my company to make my reservations at this hotel whenever I am in that area.

  • Liked — warm, indoor pool open late
  • Disliked — lack of fridge and micro; however renovations under way will remedy that
