“Shoddy, dumpy, seen better days”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 15 January 2012

Although the price may seem right with deals in coupon books and online associated with this motel, the dumpy, run down and slightly sleazy aspects of the motel take it below the low-end chain motels out there. From the somewhat "unconventional" staff to the cigarette burns on the bed's comforter, everything screams of trailer park trash. Although free internet is provided, download speeds were about 1MBS despite the place being empty with no other competition for bandwidth. I suspect they only stay in business to gouge tourists on their way to football games in the fall. The clincher for this rating came when a drunken bum knocked on my door after midnight looking for a light for his cigarette. Bottom line: there are newer, cleaner, better, similarly priced hotels at the next exits (esp. exit 378) worth investigating before dropping to the level of this place.

Room Tip: Stay away.

“Watch out”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 18 October 2011

Still says "formerly a Best Western" on its telephone answerer. I didn't catch the "formerly" until we were in the room and I couldn't understand how they were keeping their franchise. "Worn" is charitible - "run down" is more descriptive. Minimal supplies in the room, dirty - sticky bathroom floor, blown bulbs, completely worn out wall sockets, a plumbing contractor's heaven - sink doesn't drain, hold down the commode handle, etc. Low speed wi-fi works in the lobby and about half way down the building - not in my room. Best of all is the front desk staff, running interference for the spend nothing management: "Nobody else is complaining", "We don't have any of that", "Don't have the rooms you reserved". Good thing we were tired. But the wife and I couldn't help wondering if they had washed the sheets since the last guy. We had an early breakfast, which was not elaborate but sufficient, and got out.

“Room for Improvement”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 13 September 2011

I passed my exit and didn't want to U-turn. They had a nice sign out front so I pulled in. The night staff are locked inside and you can only handle business through a small hole in a window and you can see the security screens where they monitor the parking lot. I asked if it was a safe location and was told "oh yes, the safest in West Knoxville". I don't know if that is good or bad, but at least you know the parking lot is watched. We did not have any trouble and when we checked out there was a business man checking out that is a repeat customer so he must like it. The rooms still smell like smoke from the old days, there were only two towels for a double room, there was mold in the tub, and the carpet in the room was wet. The next morning I spoke to the person at the front desk and he was very nice and said they had hail damage and had a claim pending with the insurance company. So it is a possibility that improvements will be made.

“Dirty Rooms that smelled moldy”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 19 October 2009

In town for TN football game. Price was right but room was dirty and everything (phone, sink, counters) was sticky. Room smelled of mold. Disappointing and will never stay at property again.

“Good accommodations for the price with bonus of great breakfast.”

My husband and I spent 3 nights at this hotel. When we arrived the clerk apologized that the room we reserved was not available but upgraded us to a king room. The bed was very comfortable. We got up each morning and had various choices for breakfast. I came in late one night needing the internet and was able to gain access to the computer. I heard some grumblings comment about the traffic noise. Our room was on the highway side, but with the air on you barely noticed. I liked the fact that it is close to the hospital and right off the highway. We plan to stay again when we return to Knoxville.
