This Best Western by no means upholds the quality standards of any Best Western I have ever stayed in. The room had a stale odor, mold and mildew in the bathroom, ran out of hot water and had well worn bath fixtures, (sinks with cracks, towel bar falling off the wall). The pool that was advertised was not open and had no plans to open any time soon. The manager would rather send us to another hotel than to compensate us, (a discount on the room rate), for not having any hot water. The manager also threatened to call the police, since we felt the room was sub standard.I was so dissatisfied that the following weekend when I visited Knoxville I would not even stay at the Best Western-Cedar Bluff Inn that is located just a few miles east of this particular one. We stayed at the Candlewood Suites instead and it was wonderful!I wrote an email to Best Western and received an answer stating that they talked to the manager and he tried to accommodate us. And that on their next visit they would high light our complaint. In other words they didn't think our complaint warranted anything but a phone call to their manager.Best Western has lost a Gold Crown member subsequent to this event.
