“roach infested”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 13 February 2011

It's been a while since I've stayed at this hotel on business.
This past stay was a nightmare!!! There were roaches everywhere. I Could go into all the details but.....
I just hope the person who was at the desk when I checked out mentioned it to the owner/manager like they said they would after I complained.
I always enjoyed staying there. Great location. Good restaurants in walking distance.Nice pool. Too bad..

“Cheap in every sense of the word.”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 29 December 2009

I chose this one based on low rate and good rating from Tripadvisor. I can see why the rate was low, but not why it was rated high.

I've stayed at many low budget motels, and this was one of the worst rooms I've ever had. Dirty, Rundown, Big crack in table. Toilet didnt flush well, No alarm clock/radio, Minimal amount of towels, no tissues. No nightstand next to the bed. Its clear they spared every expense possible. Plus its right next to expressway, so you could hear the traffic all night/morning long.

I dont like to give bad reviews, but I dont want an innocent traveller to make the same mistake I did.

“Good price, but our room needed some serious rehab work”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 27 July 2008

My wife and I stayed here on our drive to Charleston, SC. I picked ABV since I wanted to stay on the cheap and my wife went along with my decision. For a queen deluxe room (includes fridge and small couch) we paid a base rate of around $79.
The room we were assigned to was pretty run down. The door trim was dirty from who-knows how many hands touching them over the...years? The bathroom was in desperate need of some rehab work. The tile needed some serious cleaning and replacing (see photos.) As for the rest of the unit, the paint job in some spots (see photos) was shabby at best. The pictures are very representative of the rest of the room.
The mattress was a bit on the worn side of age and springiness, so our backs weren't in too bad of shape in the morning.
Overall, I honestly would have to give the room a "dumpy" rating on its condition.
After this night, I had enough evidence to justify paying a little bit more for a better room when we travel.
