I have never in my entire 53 years stayed in such a slimy dump. There are not enough adjectives in the English or any other language to describe the overwhelming filthy conditions of the rooms and length of the "guest services"...excuse me while I laugh at that one. Where do I start. Air conditioning over the door actually worked -occasionally, the mold was holding it together. The shower door would not shut (this is an OLD Motel 6 building.) Carpet was oozing, I refused to take off my shoes. No mat for the shower, towels rough and worn. Wash cloth was filthy, when I took it to the desk I was treated like I was the biggest pain in the [--] that the TV watching, hiding in the back room desk clerk had ever encountered in her entire condesending life. When I asked for another pillow, because the one I had was no thicker than a saltine cracker, I was told, there are no more. The morning clerk however said the laundry room had plenty (she was new, she didn't know she was supposed to lie to me) Full sized bed which we were told was a queen was up against the wall, and a table was placed against the adjoining door to keep it shut because the lock was broken.
Had it not been midnight, and so dark out we couldn't tell it was a dive, would have definetely passed this one up. The "We support out troops" banner was a nice touch to suck in the unsuspecting. Bright spot in all of this, the Shoneys a short walk away was great!
