We visit B&B's all around the south on vacations or overnight stays. We always use Mayor's Mansion Inn as the standard. We go every year and stay a few nights during the holidays. It really is our a most favorite time of the year.

Room Tip: All rooms are fantastic and breathtaking. Take your pick!

“Relaxing Grandeur B&B Style!”

From the on-line reservations to checkout, the professional, attentive staff at Mayors Mansion delivered an top notch Select Registry B&B experience! We chose the spacious Chickamauga Suite for our 3 day stay after a long and successful retail holiday season.
Nestled in the Historic District, right next to UTC Campus, close to James Beard Award winning restaurants, the vibrant downtown and sightseeing were just minutes away. When we walked into our ample suite there was a huge bouquet of fresh flowers to welcome us! The room and adjoining bathroom were clean and the big canopy bed, just heaven to sleep in, nap on and then snooze some more! After a great day of touring the town, the nightly turn down service complete with yummy chocolates, made you feel privileged. In the evenings when you return, fresh cookies await along with your choice of hot chocolate, cold milk or hot tea. Or you can take advantage of the Daily Cocktails Specials and Nightcaps that were readily prepared for "en suite" delivery. The abundant amenities and the gracious manager Melanie & Staff made our stay all the more pleasurable. Plus the convenient location was a distinct advantage. Recommendations and directions to most of the "hot spots" in the area were conveniently preprinted and great for that impulse jaunt to area's attractions. We loved St. John's, Hennen's, Table for 2, Bluff View Art District and enjoyed a movie at Majestic 12. The morning coffee/tea bar on the 2nd floor was perfect for early risers. The fresh 3 course breakfast was delicious and unique each morning in the spacious but cozy Tiffany Dining Room. (Ask Mel for the recipes, she loves to share!) Since our stay was during the Holiday break, the rooms and common areas were resplendent with Christmas decor. Several guests had visitors in the spacious sitting rooms for gift exchanges or family get togethers. There was a lovely inviting veranda across the front of the Mansion, although it was sunny it was still a bit too chilly for lounging outside! The helpful staff has access to a couple of local Massage Therapists, I highly recommend Mr. Clark for bit of indulgence to unwind, relax & reinvigorate a weary spirit. We visit Select Registry B&B's across the country, Mayors Mansion meets and exceeds their prestigious standards... much to our delight. Relax, enjoy and linger in Historic Chattanooga with some incredible Southern Hospitality!

Room Tip: We enjoyed the Chickamauga suite it was enormous, perfect for lounging reading and working. The risi...

“My Favorite B&B”

We stayed in the Mayor's Mansion Inn back in 2004. I just joined TripAdvisor and I wanted to make sure I leave a comment about this B&B.

I have stayed in many B&B's, but this is by far my favorite one. I remember walking into the room and my heart pounding in excitement. The room was so elegant. There was this huge beautiful bed, and even the bathroom was so elegant. The room had high ceiling and was very spacious. The common area of the mansion was well maintained and I just loved the atmosphere of the entire mansion. The staff was very friendly too. I remember breakfast was really satisfying too.

I haven't been back to the Mayor's Inn yet, but I will definitely return some day.

(Note: I had to select a month and year that I traveled in order to submit my review, and of course, 2004 was not in the list. So I selected October 2011.)

“Awesome!”

I stayed here with my mom on our trip to Chattanooga. When we first got there the service was lovely! I can't remember the lady's name but she was very welcoming! And she took our bags for us. The room was very clean and the bed was very soft. I talked to the lady at the front desk for a few minutes and she was very relatable! She even recommended places to go! Then when we came back later that night, a man was now at the desk. He showed us where to put our leftover food and showed us where to get drinks if we were thirsty and that he made fresh cookies. When we got to our room the lady from the first time had left us chocolates and left me a note! Breakfast that morning wasn't really my thing but my mom said it was good. So over all this was an excellent stay!

My husband and myself stayed there October 3 and had a wonderful time. We stayed in the Chickamauga room and it was awesome! The room was very clean and was HUGE! It was very quite and grand! Mika (maybe spelled wrong) checked us in and was so pleasant! She advised us on restaurants and even called a cab for us! We also had cocktails out on the porch which she brought them to us! We could had stayed another night it was so relaxing! The breakfast was amazing!. Pecan waffles, bacon, quiche and a fruit cup drizzled with poppy seed banana dressing! I personally don't see how anybody could complain about this Inn. Go pamper yourself! Oh yeah the spa robes were delightful!

Room Tip: our room the chickamuga was GRAND!
