I bypassed the motels near the interstate and picked the Rodeway somewhat randomly, but was very pleased with my room. It must have been recently remodeled as every thing in the room was like brand new and spotlessly clean too. Free wifi worked great and the mattress and pillows were very comfortable. When I showered, the water pressure was awesome and the water was plenty hot. The front desk clerk was very pleasant, and I thought their rates very reasonable. Ice machine was fine, located in the laundry room, which was spacious and clean. The only negative in my room was that the air conditioner blows upward, it seems, and did not cool the large room adequately. A plastic vent director of some sort would probably fix that. It was fine while sitting at the desk by the AC, but the bed area didn't cool off as well. and the shower spigot needed to be caulked. Other than that, a very pleasant quiet and clean motel away from the interstate. I didn't use the pool, and grabbed coffee and a muffin at the restaurant next door, which is where the continental breakfast offered. My room had a fridge and microwave that I didn't use, and also an ironing board and hair dryer, also not used by me. The toiletries provided were nice too, even an eye makeup remover pad. and it's true what another reviewer posted, the parking lot does have some cramped spots but only a couple of them are really bad.

We had no hot shower in the morning. When we called the office we were told to wait a few minutes. The air conditioner took forever to cool the room and we could not open the window to just let the cool air from outside in. The continental breakfast was toast and stale cereal and a few muffins which were gone by the time my kids arrived. There was a nice laundry room which I did use. The staff was friendly however, and if need be I would stay here again.

After traveling for over 10 hours with temperatures in the nineties, one would expect to check in to a cool air conditioned room. The air conditioner was not turned on and located across the room away from the beds. Even with two table top fans, the room was not cooling off. When we complained, the lady at the lobby kept asking if we turned on the air conditoner properly. Not only was the room horrible but the directions off the expressway say three blocks on the left. We drove for what we believed to be three blocks with no hotel in site. When we called for directions, we were told to turn at the sign which was not three blocks. I wouldn't send my worst enemy to stay at this dump. Save your money and drive further on to Chamberlain. That's what we did. Best decision we ever made.

We were told about this place from the locals! We walked into Kadoka, and everyone recommended this hotel, run by Ken and Cynthia. Several Movie crews have stayed here while filming, Armageddon, Starship Troopers, and Thunderheart. The owners were very friendly, and seemed glad to have us along. They gave us a room with three beds, it was very spacious, and just what we needed. It was hot outside, so we took a dip in the pool, which was clean and well maintained. There was no microwave or fridge, but we didn't need it anyway. We did laundry, and got back out on the road after a good nights sleep. Friendly staff, great owners, who really care about the property, and clean rooms. What more could we ask for? Located at the edge of town, on old Highway 16.
