The staff was MORE than helpful and the price was very economical. Easy to find and the trolley will get you wherever you need to go so you can park your car and have a drink if you would like. Spacious parking, great shower, COMFY beds! Spacious rooms, modern, tasteful and perfectly equipped. We stayed upstairs and had a lovely deck to enjoy the weather and the kids could run and play. Don't pay more, stay here. FABULOUS PLACE

The accommodations weren't the greatest, but the room was reasonably clean and decent. The adjacent restaurant was a good place for breakfast before heading out for the day. I liked the fact that it was on the edge of town rather than being downtown. It turns out I'm not a fan of Deadwood, but if I ever had to go back I'd stay here again.

My husband and I spent 5 nights in deadwood. We had a marvelous time. We were very satisfied with the hickock house's service and staff. Once we checked out and returned home, (3 days later) we noticed we had left behind and bag full of gifts. We weren't sure where we had left the items purchased. We were surprised to hear a message left by Lynda, BW Hickock House stating they had found a bag full of shirts,etc amd she was forwarding it to us via COD. We were shocked to find such an honest place.We immediately called her and thanked her. We truly commend such a great establishment. We'll see you again. Love, Frances & Michael

The Hickok House is the best place to stay in Deadwood. I have stayed at several motels in Deadwood and have never had service like I do at the Hickok House. The staff are very friendly and helpful. They go out of their way to make sure that your stay is very enjoyable. The rooms are very clean and well maintained as is the entire property, the food is excellent in the restaurant and the service impeccable. Oh, and they have the best coffee in Deadwood. If you are reading reviews and basing your decision where to stay on that. then by all means stay here where you are treated like family and not a number.
