The accommodations weren't the greatest, but the room was reasonably clean and decent. The adjacent restaurant was a good place for breakfast before heading out for the day. I liked the fact that it was on the edge of town rather than being downtown. It turns out I'm not a fan of Deadwood, but if I ever had to go back I'd stay here again.

My husband and I spent 5 nights in deadwood. We had a marvelous time. We were very satisfied with the hickock house's service and staff. Once we checked out and returned home, (3 days later) we noticed we had left behind and bag full of gifts. We weren't sure where we had left the items purchased. We were surprised to hear a message left by Lynda, BW Hickock House stating they had found a bag full of shirts,etc amd she was forwarding it to us via COD. We were shocked to find such an honest place.We immediately called her and thanked her. We truly commend such a great establishment. We'll see you again. Love, Frances & Michael

The Hickok House is the best place to stay in Deadwood. I have stayed at several motels in Deadwood and have never had service like I do at the Hickok House. The staff are very friendly and helpful. They go out of their way to make sure that your stay is very enjoyable. The rooms are very clean and well maintained as is the entire property, the food is excellent in the restaurant and the service impeccable. Oh, and they have the best coffee in Deadwood. If you are reading reviews and basing your decision where to stay on that. then by all means stay here where you are treated like family and not a number.

This was the second year in a row we have stayed there and love it. The staff is the most friendly we have ever met. I think its very clean, its not as fancy as others but the service is good. I love it when the maids are smiling, you know its good! We travel by bike and this is VERY bike friendly! Plus its great for relaxing on the porch and very social with all the other bikers who stay there. We will be back!
